The Wonderful World of Farming with Bind on Pickup

I know this a topic that has been posted repeatedly, nonetheless i would like to illustrate in my own unique fashion.
One fine day I decided it would be a good idea to farm the Lich set in Crypt of Hearts, little did I know how much regret and pain it would cause me. Long story short I ran Crypt of Hearts 152 times. I will repeat 152 times, there must be something wrong with me!
It took me about 50 runs to acquire all the smaller pieces i needed with the traits I wanted. After that all I needed was the resto staff, this will be cake I thought, after what I just went through!?

Thus I put on a brave face and went forward into the abyss. As a note i picked each and every chest on every run. 75 runs nothing. 125 runs nothing.. 150 runs nothing... At this point it seems I had gotten every weapon but the resto staff I even got a couple Lich shields, and I was ready to give up! But no i said, and continued on! Run # 151 nothing. Run # 152 EUREKA!! I finally got a brand new RESTORATION STAFF with the TRAINING TRAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ahem, sorry my finger slipped..

Zenimax can you please get rid of bind on pickup? Or at least tone down the pain level it takes to acquire a single weapon? Spread out the drops maybe? I know you think BOP is a good idea but its not. People who are like me and did what I just did will NEVER want to do it again, unless they are a Smeagol or a masochist. It would be very nice to have these group dungeon set items back in the guild stores, thank you very much!

oh and p.s I soloed most of those runs. and yes I ran out of lubricant after about run 122!!

Did the same thing. Got every weapon/trait/gear o could ever need. No resto staff. It's almost as if they tilted the desired pieces to never drop. I stop at 65 runs. Ended up paying a ridiculous price for the staff. Even went back in there for a better trait and just gave up after another 30.

its ridiculous. My end game is Cyrodiil. Yet all of my time is currently farming CoA for a sharpened staff. If other traits were viable, I could adapt. WTF am I going to do with a decisive staff? This RNG excuse is nothing but stalling to get content replay. And I am sick of it.
50+ runs in two weeks.

Currently stuck farming spriggans set. As an overland set its sellable and tradeable. To bad I don't have hundreds of thousands to buy it in a trader with the only viable trait.

I've done the boss run hundreds of time looking for any one handed weapon in sharpened trait. None.

Yet I got a powered lich resto staff 3rd run. And a sharp spinner inferno staff after about 38 boss runs.

Fix traits somehow. Make other traits desirable. Take out training and wellfitted and other crappy traits from the loot table. Something anything but damn this farm grind is unappealing. Why make a new build if its gunna take you 1000000 years to get it together. Yet others may get it first try. The RNG in this game is godawful.

Lol, and you think defending lich/sharpened spellweave etc will cost 500g in the guildstore ? Hell no, people will charge 1kk+ and even higher just to get easy cash from others

Ladies and gentlemen I admire your determination, I tried using these farmed sets but I just can't do it, I can't bang my head against the massive walls of rng. I tried, I slogged away trying to get parts for my new alt but it's pointless, If I do the number of runs of these dungeons needed to finish these sets it will kill my love for them. I would rather accept a step down and go crafted or use sets dropped in zones, at least ZOS can't bop those as there would be nothing left for the guild stores to sell.

I firmly believe that to be true, not never drop, but painfully low drop rate on desired items.

You could sell that sharp spinner staff for quite a bit. But yeah rng hates me so I don't bother too much.

If they would allow crafting to change traits it would solve the rng and help towards making crafting viable again. Of course this would have to be an expensive operation.

I've been farming trials for one more gold vo ring and 1 more sharp dagger so I feel your pain. I've actually respeced my sorc and am aga in running dungeons for 2 different sets, I will say it sucks.

They should have crafting stations in the dungeons. And instead of dropping weapons, they drop an item that allows you one item made. But it should be Bound as soon as you make it.

RNG at its best. I've gotten 2 Lich restos (one precise and one sharp I think) and all pieces in divines in maybe ~50 runs.

Bind on pickup should be removed from all dungeons but trials. If overworld sets are not bind on pickup, I fail to see why are regular dungeon ones BoP. This would also give a great initiative to all those who want to do PvE for earning gold by selling stuff like, idk burning spellweave or something. I understand why monster helms and shoulders are BoP but for sets - that is plain bs.

I've seen the same people farming Mal Tor North Dolmen/Overland for three weeks straight. All day, every day. Just for the final piece of spinners.

I farmed and bought Inpen Spinners set for my Templar Wife, all except boots, well, inpen spinner boots are a myth. Under 200k atleast.

I improved and resold all the armor pieces for 20k apiece, which is reasonable for inpen/divines spinners. Then I farmed her inpen Soulshine, took me two hours, seriously. Afterwards spent a day farming for Spinners purple jewelry. Got lucky with a ring and necklace in a few hours.

Still, this is insane. No game in the entire world demands this much idiocy for what you need to play this damn game.

That was me last night trying to farm burning spellweave sword and shield... got nothing, nada, zilts, zero. My wife complained this morning I was using inappropriate language in my sleep and it had something to do with some shield.

I feel your pain. I was thinking of trying to acquire something other than a training resto, but I thought better of it.
I think that BOP is flawed because even after farming these dungeons for countless hours you have almost nothing to show for it.
You cant sell any of these items and you can only trade pieces with someone else who is crazy enough to farm with you. At least in overland farming, spinners for example, is lucrative enough to make it viable. Farming dungeons is a serious commitment, and if you ask me after what I have been through a serious waste of time.

My advice, like was mentioned above, is either craft your own gear, farm overland, or buy from guild traders for the gear you want. Otherwise you are likely to find yourself in a damp cave repeating the words like, "my birthday, and precious!"

RNG is a pain... When I was trying to get my MagDK PVP I wanted a BSW shield. Ran CoA so many times and nothing dropped.

I ran is recently after giving up a month ago for it and two runs in a row I get sturdy BSW shields. Lol

I think every one is getting sick of having to farm, farm, farm for the drops they want to continue doing the things they like. I know I am. How many times have we noticed things drop on the characters you don't want them on. Looking for a medium armor set, take your magic user and you will find it quicker. Want Light armor, take your stamina user.

I don't mind having to farm for a certain piece like glove or chest, but having to double farm for the correct trait as well is a pain in the butt, with the number of traits in this game.

I'm tired of seeing Training and Properpous drops, especially in Vet dungeons. These two traits should be available through crafting only, not drops from dungeons or overland.

It wouldn't be so bad if we could actually change the trait on our armor, but as if that is going to be allowed to happen. I'm getting to the point now, where, I'm tired of the grind. Tired of trying only to be punched back down to the bottom in the next update.

Came to the same conclusion the other night when farming vCoH with my tank for purple Ebon jewellery. Not a single bit of the jewellery dropped but I had the five piece Lich set in purple divines with two rings and the necklace within a few hours. So I just gave them all to my Templar. When I looked in my Templar's inventory to equip the Lich gear, I saw I had both an Ebon necklace and ring, I hadn't even noticed picking them up at sometime when doing a pledge run I guess, god knows when as I seldom use her.

Well, while you did run it a lot (more than me I gave up on CoA), I will admit they didn't design the drops around people running solo.

You are essentially cutting your chances by 4 when soloing. It is arguable though that it takes too long to find a group to farm with, so I'm not sure what's more efficient.

If you look at the number of runs, 150 / 4 = ~40 runs which is not bad at all for such an easy dungeon.

I've farmed it every day for over a month for the staves and swords in general and STILL farming them. I finally got an Ice Sharpened, but I'm still looking for Fire and Shock both in the lich style along with two precise resto staves and two sharpened swords to finish off the collection.

I found two powered resto staffs back to back on runs 270 ish and 270 ish plus one

All that and I'm still missing divines or I fussed hands.

And this is with running with friends who have given up good lives repeatedly to help me out.

It sucks, I'm well over 400 runs each trying to find sharpened Drgur hulk and Strength of the Automotan weapons.
