Want to nerf the destro ultimate?

Drop stage four vampire. The fire ult will do 20% less damage instantly.

I'm not a vampire and manage to escape most enemy destro ults. I'm not some noob calling nerf because i'm dieing too much. I'm a theorycrafter who is forced to include a destro staff in every build I think of. The reason why I made this thread is for build diversity. The other ultimate's in the game just aren't worth running over destro ult. I don't want destro ult to become useless or stop being used, I just want to see a variety of different ultimate's being used in fights.

Nerf block and blockably ultimates suddenly become much more attractive.

Also take away the ability to gapclose/teleport with destro ult running and suddenly eye of the storm becomes a lot less attractive.

    No direct dmg nerfs/adjustments needed.

Edit: Halving dmg and ultimate cost for eots would work wonders aswell.

I don't think the block makes that much of a difference. Only a small % of people in destro ults are block builds. Even then, it's meant to be an area of denial, people shouldn't stand in it and hold block. I don't think just removing that component would make the other ultimate's more attractive, it still would do double the damage of a batswarm.

I like being able to have mobility with the ultimate. If you weren't able to gapclose / teleport you would just be a sitting duck and the gameplay just wouldn't be as fun.

Halving damage and cost just makes it a slightly modified version of batswam which isn't very unique.

In my mind, most DPS ults can be put in 2 categories - Burst DPS and Sustained DPS.

Burst would be things like: Dawnbreaker, Soul tether, Meteor, Dragon Leap

Sustain would be things like: Batswarm, Standard, Thrive in Chaos / Rend

The destro ult was originally designed as a sustain DPS ultimate, but when they buffed it by doubling the damage per tick they almost put it into the Burst category as well. When used against vampires it's only around 20% damage/tick short of spamming 7 soul tethers in a row. It's why nightblades are bombing with eye of the storm instead of soul tether. It either has to be a sustained DPS or a Burst DPS it can't be both for such a long duration, that's just OP. My suggestion makes is more of a sustained ultimate like originally intended which then builds up to a bursty finish to make it a little more creative/ fun.

UH no. This ultimate is already fine as is. And you need to realize that ZOS is already back peddling on this so asking for increase such as this only makes it worse. You can not have an ultimate that acts as an execute when Proximity Det is already doing the job for you.

It´s literally the only possibility for a magsorc to kill a permablock build. So no i don´t think it should be blockably - i´d like to keep my superexpensive counter to someone taping down their right mouse button in combat.

Making it blockable would instantly remove all that is useful about that ability from my perspective. It would not impair the functionality in large grps either. It would only nerf it for a playstyle where i don´t think of it as overpowered at all.

I support this Mojar. Reduce the per-tick damage but keep the overall damage with elongated duration. Seems fair.

This exactly. It seems like half of Cyrodiil scotch tapes down their block button and wants that one button to counter everything.

Holding your block button down 90% of the time and running around isn't 'counter play'. It's just stupid design.
