My 2017 ESO PvP wish list!!

Hello everyone,
I am a PvP fanatic and have been since I first stepped into Warsong Gulch (SP?) way back when WoW first came out. To me there is something magical about PvP as fighting against other players is never predictable and often times never boring…. PvP can also be rather rage inducing as well and anyone that has spent a little time in Cyrodiil would probably agree.
What once was a fun and addictive pass time to ESO is slowly becoming stale, riddled with crashes and long load screens and the more unpleasant crowed (cheaters, rule breakers/benders, exploiters, etc) are rising to the top. Campaigns are often won by the faction who can night cap the most, we crown EMPs that farm their friends for AP (nothing really epic about that), low pop bonuses can be manipulated and abused, people faction swap constantly to maximize AP and rewards for themselves (there are still people like myself who truly are about faction loyalty ). Now even with all those negatives I just listed PvP in ESO can still be a lot of fun but it is on life support and it needs a lot of tender loving care from ZOS.

1. Cyrodiil needs to change, the map is just too big to have any real night after night mind blowing PvP. We should have a DLC that deals with this and drastically changes the size of Cyrodiil. They could make IC part of the regular game and then make that the PvP zone. It is all instanced so they could also turn either the sewers or districts into battlegrounds that we have to queue up for, 8/16/32 man teams. The top side of Cyrodiil could be made into a new PvE zone with a new trial or something….. or they could trim it down to just the EMP keeps (plus one starter area for each faction) and make it so that once all EMPS keeps were taken the controlling faction had access to a 24 man trial (two bosses and each boss has a chance to drop faction based War Mounts and weapons).

2. This one should probably have been number 1 but ZOS’s top priority should be fixing the crashes and long loading screens plus improving the frame rates.

3. Give us better rewards for PvP. Replace the current Rewards for the Worthless bags with something better…. like tokens that we can save up and spend on anything we like (IE - PvP mounts, any and all PvP gear currently in game, crafting materials, etc).

4. Last but not least… please please please fix the PvP so that it can no longer be manipulated and or abused by its players. Please put a stop to the cheaters and exploiters who only care about themselves and who probably do more harm to the game (long term) than good. Create a fair and fun system for getting EMP, make it so night capping has no major effect on the score (ohh and make it so the scoring stops when maintenance starts), put an end to faction swapping or at least make it so there is no personal benefit in faction swapping. Please do something about the population numbers as well; people in IC should not count as part of the Cyrodiil proper numbers. Plus make it so people can’t use alts or 2nd accounts to take up pop slots for other factions (those people who are always standing by the wayshrines and never do anything).

    good job, good points...

    opportunity for easily acessible, concentrated, AvAvA large scale pvp...sign me up...

    for those of us whom live and breath in cyro - let us make some money some how, so as we can keep up with the folks whom have a little more balance in their game :o

    gotta give a big thumbs down though on putting alliance/character/campaign restrictions back in the game - just not fair to those of us whom do play "the right way"; and, have like a gazillion characters built and eager to fight...

    I personally do not believe "lag" is that easy an issue for zos to resolve...kinda like the destro ulti's - best you can do sometimes is to try to stay out of it's way (try to avoid huge player concentrations)...

    I wonder though sometimes if lag is somehow related to the map size - been in plenty of big fights in imperial city (unfortunatley not very many in the last 8 months or so), never really experienced any kind of massive lag...

    obviously, balance is another issue which we all hope is addressed and improved shortly (next couple of months)...

    I think most of us would agree - although we enjoy the option of customizing our builds and wouldn't want any limits on that, most of us would like pvp to be more based on skill, than availability to gear...

    I think the faction swapping (yay or nay) may be a generation thing as i am an old time gamer who believes in loyalty (dance with the woman who brought ya). Sometimes it can be a real challenge to stem the tide of a push (blues) if a portion of your faction (yellows) logs off their current characters and onto the the side that is taking over the map.

    What i would like to see is at the start of a campaign we pick a faction and our account is locked to that faction for the duration of the campaign. I also think the campaigns should be 14 days, 7 days and 24 hours.

    I like all your points *except* changing the map size. No!!! The fights are already stupidly zergy. Limit the area people have to fight in and this would be ten times worse IMO. I don't want to be condensed into a smaller area with the same amount of players. There would be nowhere to go, nowhere to take a breather and desperately search for small scale. It would be all 24v24 round the clock. No thanks.

    You make a good counter argument and on top of that I don't think ZOS will ever change the size of Cyrodiil. However, changes still need to be made to spice up the PvP in this game so a few more things i was thinking of..

    Change the Rewards of the Worthy bags to include gear from the towns you own and if your faction does not own any towns then you get the generic pvp gear. Also add an elite boss/general to the towns that must be defeated before the town will flip.

    Add a skill bar to use when mounted with 3 slots and then give us section in our skills called Mounted Action, make some interesting skills to chose from that we could use while mounted (slotting Rapids would be a no brainer). I was thinking at least one combat skill based on the mount you are using and maybe some cosmetic skills. The mounted combat skill would be based on the mount you were using... Say if you were riding a Camel your mounted combat skill would be Heavy Spit and pressing this while mounted causes your Camel to spit snot in a 12meter cone causing anyone hit by it to be vision impaired for 5 seconds (like the alcohol effects).
    Or maybe you are riding a Wolf and your combat skill would be Startling Howl, using this while mounted causes your wolf to howl loudly causing any the mounts of any enemy players within 30meters to panic and throwing the rider for 3k fall damage.
    As for the non combat skills they could br anything like... Skills that make your mount jump farther, go in deeper water without getting dismounted, allow you to survive longer falls, etc!!

    Well anyways, getting tired so that is all i am going to write for now.

    Good points all around . If they can't fix the crashing and lag spikes though , we might as well have Chef Ramsey come in and turn the server room into a Bistro .

    I too am excited for battlegrounds! In other MMO's that is what I spent most of my time doing... playing battlegrounds. However I think classes will need to be balanced first because the current imbalances can be hidden in Cyro to an extent but they will rise to the top in battlegrounds or small scale pvp!!

    Wow, a wishlist with actual good ideas without even mentioning "nerf". +1

    Point 4 is indeed the most important one (for me at least, seeming that I don't suffer from point 2 that much on desktop). I can't think of a good way to appoint the emporer. Maybe add certain requirements that needs to be fullfilled in order to apply for Emporer? For example, kill 20 different players (players being accounts, not characters), Destroy 1 trebuchet, catapult, and ballista, one of your guilds controls 1 keep. Just an idea.

    The size of the map is what's causing the zergs. 90% of the map are empty. So players who want to PVP go to the fight-markers on their map. And since there is usually only one, maximum two in prime time, everybody ends up at the same place. Worse even, those recommendable few who try to start another, smaller-scaled fight somehwere else, have to ride unbearably long only to stand in front of a keep or outpost where an enemy zerg forms rather within seconds (fight marker on the map!). Do they go there again if they wipe? Of course not, they want to PVP like everybody else, not play ponysimulator.

    So smaller map, more profit for everybody.

    ZOS is an evil genie. They might give you what you want so you can initially be happy but when you really look at it later you find yourself thinking "I've made huge mistake"
