@raidentenshu_ESO the addon that does this is very useful and used for things other then seeing what people's loots are I have it and it took me a while to realize that it did it. I would also ask have you ever used team speak if so other people can see your IP address. Other players seeing what you received isn't all that intrusive as let say a addon that shows grip mmbrs dos or gear.

I also don't understand why ZOS decided to let addons show other players' loot (in group) since all loot in ESO is personal and the basic game without addons has absolutely no option to show you what loot other players are getting.

The only good pro argument for this feature, in my opinion, is that it could be useful to see other players' loot when trying to get an estimate of drop rates for certain items. Otherwise I would say a player's desire/right to keep their loot info private should be prioritized over a player's desire/right to see the loot of other players in their group (in a game where all loot is personal).

Dungeon loot sharing is a cancer. Should be disabled.
Personally I've met a player, who was using loot snooping add-on in PUG only once. Just after One Tamriel has been released.
It was vBHH. I was really p off by his annoying begging. People, who are not using such addons, are less annoying usually. They ask for set pieces they need and hope others will be generous. This is healthy situation.

See, it comes down to tact. Just last night a random in a normal WGT run got a divines hood. I knew it, and he knew it. I waited till the end of the dungeon, then asked in group, "Anyone got SPC stuff?" Dude left instantly. Done the above before and had people say "Yeah I got xxxx of SPC, divines."

I know what your drops are, but I don't hound you. I guess it comes down to knowing that if I want something, I'm not going to get it via being obnoxious and throwing a tantrum, or creeping the owner of said item out.

Next time respect peoples privacy and let them make the decision by offering such item in the chat.

I don't understand the need for this addon. What's so difficult with stating at the beginning of the dungeon "I'm looking for x" or at the end "did someone get y"? Afraid of actually communicating?

People usually don't read the Chat at all. on the other side, why would it be difficult to say "No"?

Imo OP is selfish, might be my american prejudice, but I this mad view of Freedom of choice is not healthy...

I should really learn modding just to make an add-on to block this add-on that lets people peek at your loot table.

It would be more fun to make an addon that would allow you to post fake items looted into the the display.

But i suppose that would just make them ask more. And since this whole thread seems to be about the inability to say No, making them ask more is probably the wrong direction to go.

Loot notifiers is not a big deal. If someone asked for what dropped and I want it I just say no.

Heck, sometimes it can mean big $$$$, especially if it is a weapon in the proper trait.

On one hand people asking for your loot is annoying

On the other it's not private information. ZOS included it in the API for a reason.

I like when people have this. I don't have to bother checking what I get until later. Also that way I don't have to link every darn set piece to see if anyone wants it.
Never had an issue with people doing this. A lot of times they've asked me for something that I would have otherwise decon'd or vendor'd because I assumed it for junk. If they ask for something I need, simply telling them that I need it ends the conversation. Never had anyone "beg".

    ^ Agree 100% ^

Both my main trials leaders use it and if someone wants something I have and I don't need it, they're welcome to it for free.
RIP Atherton, my beautiful little gentle friend, my Shining Light. I will miss you forever. Without you I am a hollow shell.

So on console we don't have this add on that lets you see others loot we just have to ask in text or voice chat.

I regularly have to run group finder groups as its not as easy for me it seems to find a group to run a specific dungeon 100000 times. So at the start of any random group I text out "farming whatever set" and then at the end the generous that don't need it trade it to me. Often I trade them a few 1000 gold as I'm not rich and then go on my way.

Ita easy no one gets mad and those that want to share, share. And those that don't, don't. Its really quite simple.

So knowing if a group member got a drop I need/want isn't gunna change if I let them know I'm farming the set or not.

Saying no isn't a crime. And neither is asking.
