I'm so confused. When people say macro I think of it as binding more than one function to one single key, let's say 3 functions. In order for you to use the 3 functions bound to said key, you would have to push that same button 3 times. So instead of hitting 1, 2, and then 3, you'd only need to push (for instance) the 1 key 3 separate times. That to me is a macro.
If you bind 3 separate functions to one key and only need to push the key once to have it run through the commands...I thought that was classified as something else =\ I'm so lost.

I've seen a kid almost get to emp , clearly using macros, he had an ambush> light attack> surprise attack > switch weapon cancel > light attack > surprise attack - put it on the back bar> switch bar cancel> light attack > reverse slice - combo that all happened in about 1 second. - I've been ganked many times- and i can counter 99 percent of the time. roll dodge, heal up, buff up, streak thru, get ready for my turn. but this guys macros were so quick and slick that he slaughtered thru our whole alliance with one button. i wasn't the only one that commented- all of us saw it. i havent seen him around since a few people complained- but yeah- to people saying macros can't be an advantage- they havent seen anybody use it effectively or creatively yet.
the best players can maybe put 4 or 5 hits into a combo uninterrupted with quick cancelling and weaving, but this was a ridiculous 8 hit combo.
