Game regerstration code

I am having game registration code problems I got two codes to use to try ESO plus and when I enter the codes all I get in enter game registration codes. When I try and do that nothing happens at all except and error saying the code was wrong yet it the code for the game. I went support and for a month no help from theme at all, nice way to deter a customer if you ask me. Does anyone now how to fix the issue so I can my registration code that is in my billing history so I can put in the other codes and try ESO plus see if it is actually worth it.

Did you buy the game?

ESO plus or subscription codes will only apply crowns.
A registration code suggests you don't own the game. Did you start as a trial or free weekend by chance?

Or do you play using Steam?

I Usually on steam but I have game codes since Beta Test then the regular then the Imperial then the steam
