So my friend has some $2000 computer, me, I have an Acer laptop 2015

He told me laptops don't have the best life span, maybe 1-2 years

Wow, that's not alot, I'm use to consoles lasting and entire console life span. I'm not concerned about my laptop not able to run , say better graphic games as they are released, I'm concerned about its performance dropping

How long will my laptop last with my cooling pad? I play on high, max texture, resolution, 30-37 fps, not ultra ish with ambient oculsion, and 60fps, I have had it a year, no issues, and I play about 8-15 hours a week

Acerers are crap to begin with but it should last you about 5-6 years.

It really depends on what changes or updates ZOS makes.

    Comparison to this
I rand this on a laptop from 2013-2015 until the direct x update on a laptop with only 8gig of ram a GTX260m. It was my WoW laptop so....I think it lasted 6 years.

That's a very old laptop vid card but it was fine until the update but I never got over 20-25 FPS

Obviously now you have direct x 11 so as long as that min requirements aren't changed....it'll last until the machine breaks.

lower graphics a little bit and disable Anti Aliasing if you have it enabled
i think issue with gaming laptops is battery becoming inefficient over time and not having proper cooling circuit.. thats why gaming laptops like alienware/ asus rog/ msi have optimized cooling circuits.. unlike urs :P
    cooling pad does help indeed...

and excessive use may affect durability aswell.. if u play on a laptop with 65c temperature many hours non stop

Good to know it lasted you so long, I would like 5 years with ESO at least, my model is December 2015, so basically 2016ish

I have a cooling pad on every time I play, it USE to get hot, so I stopped and bought the pad,by now at most it barely can be considered warm,

Will that give it a good life span?

Oh and take the battery out and play plugged in. Battery is pointless for gaming anyways.

For what ever you spend on a laptop you can get way more power on a desk top. I spent 1500 6+ years ago and built my own desk top. Its still a beast, I upgraded my graphics card once and can still play any game on max settings with killer frames. I don't get people that blow money on a lap top for gaming unless you really need to be mobile with it.

You never ever play with a gaming laptop using the battery.

The battery comments are spot on. If you are near a power source, always take the battery out. Having it in while playing will only make it way too hot and that will ruin it, reducing its lifespan without reason.
