There's a very simple concept with a very hard way to implement.

Akavir Continent.
This is the continent to the East of Tamriel, and there are 5 races that inhabit it.
Tang Mo, the Monkey Folk.
Kamal, the Ice Demons.
Ka'Po'Tun, the Tiger People.
Tsaesci, the Vampire Serpent Man.
and.... Humans (probably Imperials from their expeditions)

These 4 new races have already some lore, and can be explored by ZOS, but creating a new continent in game is hard (if you want something good made out of it), also its a new chance for them to introduce new classes. Maybe making an entire second part of the game, creating an entire 4 gigant zones for pve with a small pvp are in the middle, because all of those races are in conflict with each other, and having the Imperials as a free race (for that dlc - Akavir), or maybe not playable at all, and act as Tsaesci slaves (because thats what they do other than being dead). Also, its a good way to introduce a new Trial and 4 entire new dugeons (of course group activities is not limited to races, alliances, nor continents, having Tamrielic races partake on those too). However your alraedy made character, can't quest trough Akavir, In order to encourage the creating and learning of new classes and races from scratch.
Again, this means an entire new game of sorts, and LOTS of work, but if made this would be a gigant addition to the game, hours worth of content and gameplay.

And as a bonus for the ones who want dragons so bad, Akavir is the Homeland of the Dragons :dizzy: , however the Tsaesci killed ALL of them xD .Ok, other than giving you hope and taking it away again, the Ka'Po'Tun, were only known as Po'Tun and they worshiped Dragons. With the death of the very last one, their leader performed a ritual in what he became the largest (yeah, the F LARGEST) dragon in existence. He's said to be big as a mountain peak and to have tiger stripes on his orange scales that remind him of his origins, then changing the name of the people to Ka'Po'Tun. Can we have their ultimate be a transformation to a F DRAGON? O_O

I could go for this, but only after the release of the Rise of the Skeevers playable skeever expansion pack. Because in the end, the skeevers always win.

But seriously, Akavir would be epic. B)

What? A DLC that explores a new area and expands upon Elder Scrolls Lore? What do you think Zenimax is? Creative?

In all seriousness, the main thing I see preventing new classes and races is the serious hatred from the community towards the idea as well as the constant moaning about balance. The word "Proctards" was even problematic for the staff at one point just because of balance.

If I were Bethesda I wouldn't trust Zenimax to introduce completely new races to the TES universe. They are very careful and with their creations and would probably want to design the appearance, abilities and expand the lore themselves.

I think Bethesda would want to make an Akavir RPG before this happens. Awesome idea though for the future. I'd like to see the other regions open up a bit more first (Vaardenfel etc) and experience Akavir as stand alone first, but that's just me.

Agreed. That and the fact that ZoS is so afraid to make this game their own game. They're too afraid to create something new, instead they just want to please the lore-fanatics, and just want it to feel just like any Elder Scrolls game. While I also want it to feel like any TES game, I would really like for Zenimax to make it their game. Exploring the Akaviri Continent would be really awesome. Having new playable classes and races would be really awesome. I hate it when people say, "Oh that and this race/class/event was never in previous TES games.", what restricts Zenimax to create content (I think), is that they are always afraid to try something new. Which is unfortunate. I love TES lore. It's really interesting, but the truth is I never played any other TES game. This is my very first Elder Scrolls game, and I am probably not the only who is.

They are not exactly new, their aparence and raw lore are already in books.
This is one big shot, tho would be nice if Bethesda showed up and became a partner on it.

Yeah that's what I thought too. Bethesda wouldn't allow ZOS to do Akavir.

My only requirement in my mind for adding races is for it to contextually make sense within the lore. The Akaviri would be a perfect way to poke about with new races and lore but as others have said I imagine only Bethesda itself will be able to start that in a Elder Scrolls, would love to see that though. Been dying to learn more aboutt and see them since Morrowind.
