Is this a US gallon or UK gallon?

US gallon (so assuming Google hasn't failed me, about 1 1/5 UK gallon).jedtb16_ESO wrote: »what you are making there is custard.

If it contained alcohol I wouldn't be able to have a glass before work. Well...not and expect to drive there in one piece.Making it with no booze lets me have some whenever I want.
Now that said, if you know a no-plant-alcohol that would go well with the above, by all means try it out and post an addendum. My personal alcohol knowledge is lacking, so I'm unwilling to try that myself.

However, dairy products, honey, mushrooms, and insects are eaten with zest by all but the most ultra-zealous of Pact Bosmer.

Brandy, rum or bourbon. I've usually seen bourbon, but some recipes even use all three.starkerealm wrote: »Though, I was wondering what was traditionally supposed to go in there. That makes me think of another word: Braunschweiger. And then regret that I don't have any around the house.

The latter seems more likely.
Though, I was wondering what was traditionally supposed to go in there. I figured whiskey... so, I guess, close enough?

Your recipe sounds good, honey is an intriguing flavor for this. Low fat too. Should be yum.
