Oceanic region connectivity issue

Seems that in tandem with the release of New Life Festival, Oceanic players have been experiencing pings of around 600-999+. My usual ping range has always been 230-300.
Players in the US are reportedly getting constant 50-100 ping ratings. I'm just wondering what's actually making the servers choke when dealing with Oceanic players. Logically speaking, it's definitely not the Oceanic players' ISP problem but more on ZOS's side.
I've been meaning to play the game since the holiday event release (iirc on the 15th to be exact) but now I'm just playing Elder Logs-in-and-kicks-out On/Offline.

Please ZOS, please fix yer servers, I paid for this game and for the sub and this is definitely not what I'm paying for mang. Seriously...

In the meantime, any suggestions on improving connectivity to the game server? And yes I've tried resetting the router/unplugging & waiting for 500 light years before turning on the router again.

    hehe
a light year is a distance, not time xD
but ya, it's crazy how some people have been having the worst experience trying to get into or trying to stay in the game, while i've talked to some friends who seemingly have not had one single crash (lucky nuggets)

I also have a connectivity problem with NA server from SEA region but I could make new character and leveling it up to 10 on EU server without much hassle.

This is what exactly have been happening to me. It's been 2 days now. Restart my router couple of times, nothing work.

Same case with me. When I switched NA to EU. I am able to create character and play just fine but I don't play in EU.

As an Oceanic player, the claims of 999+ms ping are not something I have experienced. If anything, mine have remained relatively normal if only a little bit higher (staying 300ms instead of being around 230-280). And this is including my ISP having issues in my area. And a lot of my Aussie guildmates are not having issues either so as far as it being ZOS's server, that seems to be false because if it were, it would affect everyone as a whole.

Don't bother restarting your router or anything like that, the issue has nothing to do with our connections or connectivity with ESO server's - the problem is with the ESO server's themselves and their problems with dealing with the current load of players, the massing of people in just a few area's, etc.

Some people are lucky and not effected at all, or very much, by this... while others are having great problems, heaps of lag spikes, etc. I've been one of the luckier ones who have been able to play without much lag issue's... and I'm from Australia as well. My ping is 280-320 ms while in-game, which is where it's usually at. I've only gotten one or two 999+ ping spikes.

But just cuz I'm not having issue's doesn't mean there is no issue - however the issue is not on our end, not our ISP's... it's entirely ZOS and the ESO server's, the server code they use, the game code, etc at fault

You watch - moment things settle down and less ppl are playing to do the festival then the ping spikes and issue's will get fewer and fewer. Maybe they'll never go away, maybe they will go away once the festival is gone and people spread out again... or maybe ZOS will actually for once be able to fix the problem on their end.

If you are 500 light-years from the server, you might try moving closer. Maybe something cozy in the Alpha Centauri system?

Gah, how did I mistake that for a time unit. Apologies people! My brain derps from time to time and I hereby put forth my utmost apologies to everyone. :D

That being said though, I really want to get into the game again and I plea to Zenimax frekkin Online frukin Studios to at least clear some connectivity issues so the affected (me included) can enjoy their subscription-infused (or f2p players) ESO experience. Just please..

I don't consider ESO to be a top-tier game. If they are spending the money to try and be one, it does not show. They have less a than stellar (pun intended) customer support reputation and serious problems with quality. That is just the start. This is likely intentional, and ZOS has no business plan to address any of this stuff in any real manner. I largely consider the game to be presented "as-is", and this is because I thnk that ZOS feels that what they have is "good enough" for their revenue position.

For many people, probably the majority of the remaining players, it is "good enough". The outliers are the ones that will suffer in a situation like this. If it works for you, terrific. If it doesn't work for you, you can either hope it will get better, or move to some other game that does work for you.
