What is the most ideal Magicka class for PvP?

Before I say anything else, the PvP forum section is dead and I have only gotten 23 views after 2 days, so I came here.

I am just trying to figure out the most optimal class for PvPing, specifically Magicka builds if it can be helped. I thought that the next meta that comes with housing will favor magicka, so might as well start now since the whole StamProc thing is going to be nerfed to Oblivion.

First things first. I reached level 32 on a StamNB and just did not like it. Maybe it was the repetitive bow use and killing everything in 2 shots, I don't know. It just seemed boring. Not to mention I was forced to level up blacksmith too so I could use DW. I was thinking something heavy armor based, maybe even purely staff/magicka.

That brings me to the class question. I leveled up a Sorc to 10, only to find out on 4 different leaderboards that Templars took the first 5 slots everywhere, and the nearest Sorcerer was number 15 or lower. I thought they were doing well? Why are Templars doing so good? Is it because of Radiant and Blaze shield?

My choices now are pretty much at DK or Templar. I am comfortable with tanking or healing, some good DPS wouldn't hurt either. Should I be a Magicka DK or Templar and for what reasons? What weapons do I use for each class?

Last question. Is MagDK going to get a boost and be evened out or will they still do bad at PVP? I noticed that DK players with all points into Magicka are powerful in groups, but not solo. Why is that? I'm just trying to understand the best way to play without gimping myself.

If you highest level is 32, You are more then likely hundreds of hour of gameplay away be being able to understand the mechanics well enough to excell at pvp.

Just mess around until you get 160cp before you worry about getting gear.

Play what ever you like, just make sure to be in BIG group when you do. Zerging in PVP can be tons of fun, and pouring oil will earn you the most AP.

    Cheers!

Ironically enough, if you're going to go purely staves, and are dead against blacksmithing, then Mag Sorc is the way to go, and then Mag NB. Good luck using a staff in PVP on either a Mag DK or Temp with no heavy armor :p

Templars lead the AP boards because they are super easy to gain AP on. They have large omnidirectional heals. When you heal someone in pvp, you get some AP when they earn AP. Don't confuse top of the leaderboard with skill

With that said, magplars and sorcs have the most complete kits in pvp. MNB lack burst outside of heavy attack into assassins will. MDK lack either sustain, damage, or defense (you can only have 2 of these 3 when playing a mDK).

There are 2 mag clasess that are able to fight back to stam toons:
    1. Magplar - pretty straight forward toon. Whana do dmg? Cast entropy, vampire bane/reflective light, spear shards and begin destruction with sweeps. Considering all of this skills can proc valkyn skoria set + two of them can proc burning light (templar passive) it can be dangerous if someone wont reposition him self. If you mess something just heal up to full and again.
    2. Mag sorc. This one is harder to master, but when played correctly its one of the top predators in Cyrodiil. To kill someone with this toon you need to train muscle memory and have stoper in your brain, as this class has no spamable skill to deal dmg. You need to build burst correctly at any circumstances, you cannot just spam one high dmg skill that buffs you and debuffs your target (looking at you NBs) to proc 2 sets. Well played sorc is also one of the hardest toons to kill... until you get cced with no stamina to break free. Other than templar, you dond defend retro activ (after you recieve damage) you defend your self pro active by casting shields before taking damage as mag sorc has no spamable heal (no, dark deal healing for 4,5k with 1s cast time is not a spamable heal). So in general, playing sorc requires a lot of practice as you cant in the middle of a fight think about what shields do you have on, when curse will explode, is the furry still on my target? Should I cast frags now or wait a second. No, you need to pay attention to battlefield, rest should be automatic.

    Other two:
    4. Magblade: It has two strenghts. Unlimited cloak (which can be broke by any aoe, potion, at least 3 skills designed to search hidden enemies and many more but still its amazing skill). Soul siphon. Hard hitting spamable skill with almost no cost, with dot heal that scales of damage done with it.
    5. Mag dk. Used to be king of eso, nerfed to the ground. Has best dot in the game and aoe root + nice reflect skill.

Maybe in the future MDK and MBlade will get some buffs to be on pair with the rest of community.

I'm done with this game because of ZOS pushing us into Vengeance, because they don't know how to fix Cyrodiil.

Magsorc isn't too hard to play if you can count to four.

I would recommend getting at least 300-400 cp before setting foot in any CP campaign though. As the game is designed around max cp, you won't be competitive before.
Play Blackwaterblade. And shoot the wall, not the door.

Best magicka class for zergs right now is NB.
Proxi, various leeching abilities for both single target and AOE usage, and mandatory destro ulti. Add on top of that VD set, and cancer is born.

The most ideal magicka class for pvp is sorcerer, hands down the undisputed nuker, everything sinergizes well.
The templar is a close second, very well round apart from the mobility.
Magblades and magDKs are kinda second class citizens, they are great support in every group but solo...only people really passionate about both classes stick with it.
