Returning after a long hiatus!

I played for a brief period last year, but school and other things in life got in the way. However, I've always wanted to return. Next week, I'll be getting a decent PC that can actually run this game somewhat decently, so I decided to go ahead and start making preparations for my glorious return. So, I guess I am just kind of wondering how things in ESO have progressed? I know the game got a lot of hate upon release, but lately people have been taking a second look at it and recommending that people give it another try. Who would know better than the people who have been playing it, right? I look forward to being able to jump back in and have a ton of fun! Please feel free to add me in-game by the tag in my signature (I'm sure the majority of my friends who once played have moved on). I like to roleplay!

Be careful what you ask for !
I think the game is still great ! (PS4), it has issues like any other, albeit minor.
However watch out because the "flames" will latch onto this thread. because "minor" is a major catastrophe.
Make your own decision and listen to no one.
You need to make the final decision. What doesn't work for some will work for others.
Not everybody here agrees with that unfortunately !

Even back when the game was barely being released, there was a ton of people who would jump down your throat if you didn't jump on the "Down with ZoS" bandwagon or if you said anything remotely positive about something they did that you appreciated.

Have things gotten any better for bow-users in PvP? Dracindo✭✭✭✭✭Welcome back! I've also returned after approximatly one year. An online friend decided to buy it and then I discovered that 2 other people I know also (used to) play it, though I haven't seen those 2 yet.
Honestly, I don't get why people would hate this game. Unless they don't like to switch from Skyrim adventures to ESO MMORPG, where lots of people are telling you how to build your perfect character. Like "Eeeugh! Magicka Argonian Templar with two handed sword? NOOB I r3kt u 10sec 1v1 me scrub!"
I know it'll never be that OP character, but like to play this character as Undyne (Undertale), with all the spears I can get from Aedra's spear (Templar skill line). And two handed is the closest thing to holding a spear in the game (until Unarmed combat becomes a thing). But other than that, just do all the PvE stuff, follow the stories, don't bother in levelling ASAP, and it's as good as Skyrim (to me, at least).
In any case, I'm glad I've returned, because now I can save up some gold for the upcomming housing update. The only thing I really missed in this game after playing Skyrim. Well, that and dragons, but yeah, lore... (Just give us a Chinese dragon and call it a Chidart or something, I mean, the little serpent with wings pet is also close to being a dragon, stop pretending and just change the lore, please

What is important is that you ask yourself whether you are enjoying the game or not.
Because that is really all it boils down to: are you happy?
It took me a long time to realize to play a game for me, not the several thousand other people around me.
Do what makes you happy as long as it doesn't include anything illegal or TOS breaking
