New Life Festival... What the...

ZoS... What the hell is this?!?! I play TESO for the group activities in dungeons and trials. I enjoy roaming the world, farming, grinding and exploring.

I do not enjoy being shunted around taverns to dance and juggle. I do not enjoy crowding around lag infested fishing holes falling asleep hoping to get a fish. I do not enjoy standing around with dozens of other players waiting for horvars to spawn and hope I got enough damage on it. And jumping off bridges?!?!

The previous event was fun. We were rewarded for completing useful and fun activities. This is a total waste of time.

Never have I posted a comment like this before. I'm a completionist so feel compelled to collect the new motifs. I wish I could do this by completing dungeons and dailies.

Do you think ANYONE would participate in this event if there were no rewards?

Should I mention the total lack of awareness and foresight in cramming everyone into 10 small areas and so causing horrendous lag, fps, crashes and slow quest completion?

I'll continue to do these "quests" until I have what I want... Albeit begrudgingly. I shan't be looking forward to your next event. Well done.

What you do not find fun is pretty fun to other people.

Your play style is not the only valid one.

The only problem with this event is that, when considering the server capabilities and the limitations of some quests (kill this, fish on these spots only), ZOS strangely didn't seem to take into consideration that there would be more than five people trying to do the event.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

Don't like it, don't do it. Simple enough, bitching about what you don't like, but others may, just looks foolish.

It worked fine on PTS with all 3 people that tried it.

Well, it does run for a while. Wait a few days for the new content smell to wear off and maybe it won't be so crowded.

@Abeille if you read my entire post, you'd see I mentioned that lack of awareness. So many people are whining like me in area chat about the lag, boredom, etc. For motif collectors, we have no choice.

The event is fun, but they really should have planned a bit better. With all factions able to go everywhere, it's a mess. I got booted twice, fishing holes vanish so fast you hardly get a chance to cast, people are doing the usual hanging out and spamming abilities, making the lag even worse. PTS never shows just how bad it will be since so few participate in comparison to live. I'm hoping things settle down a bit.

You have a choice. Do it at a later time, the event doesn't last for just a couple hours. Come back in a few days.

i dunno i quite enjoyed this event, i don't understand why it's on for 20 days though as you've literally done everything within a few hours.

    And then you said this:

There are people that find these activities fun. I love to get some insight on the different cultures of Tamriel, and this was a great way to do so.

Perhaps you should say that players like yourself do not enjoy it. It doesn't mean the nobody would participate on the event if it wasn't for the rewards.

Also, the motifs are tradeable. You can buy them from the people who enjoy the quests if you don't want to do them.

The event is pretty bad indeed. Halloween was so much fun. It's even worse that we can't even farm the boxes, you only get 10 a day.

You have to love those who defend a company, especially when they are not going to get anything for it, lol.

The content of the quest line is one thing, and while it may or may not appeal to everyone, that is a personal preference.

The issue the OP was getting at, at least what i perceived: The infrastructure and design of the event is what was poorly designed.

There simply is no excuse for a game company that knows it has lag and knows that they have had issues with new content releases to deliberately design a quest which requires everyone to be in the same spots and to force them to return in 2 hour increments.

That's not the only point the OP is making. They don't have a problem only with the lag, they have a problem with the content of the quest line too. They said it right here:

Thank you. That's what I reiterate throughout my post. The content is boring, but that's just my opinion. But it's taking me soooo long to complete each (boring) "quest" because of the, dare I say it again, lag, crashes and performance.
