Can we expect a in-game Barber Shop instead of this greedy crown shop thing?

Yesterday I got called stupid/***/idiot and a lot more of these amazing words in Zone chat when I said "how stupid and greed is from ZOS part to charge for basic game features such as change basic character appearence".

And then people started to say "They have to make money somehow" and then when I replied them with "They already make money, the game is purchase to play, they sell DLCs, Mounts, Costumes, Hair Styles, Pets why the need to also charge for basic characters appearence when many others games have this feature in-game free of charge (only in game gold/currence)"

And of course I got attacked again by more amazing words and some people even said they put me on ignore.

Have the fanboylism gone so far that people are too blind to see when a company is stomping on them?

I don't mind the current setup of "buy all the hairstyles and change it when you want" but when I zone in and out of places it will reset my hair/jewelry/accessories back to unequipped. I've filed tickets for this bug and made posts on the bugs forum and ZOS gives zero ***.

I prefer the single payment and then use whenever I want. Saves me having to go back to the barbershop every time I want to change hairstyles (Every few minutes).

It's not like it costs much for a pack of 92 hairstyles.

I used to play an MMO that had a barbershop (WoW) and I honestly prefer ZOS' system.
Like @Aeula said, it saves having to drop whatever you are doing at the moment and going to a fixed location to just swap out a hairstyle. And sometimes I do this when a person goes afk during a pledge - I get bored waiting and do a complete makeover while waiting for "Bob" to come back from the restroom or whatnot.
Another great thing is that you pay one time to access all the base hairstyles.
In WoW, I remember you had to pay every time you changed even just one crummy thing about your character's look.
And as @Ravena stated: It's not even expensive.
People will pay more for things you can get in-game with gold instead (experience scrolls, riding training books, bag space, etc.)

Changing your hairstyle would be considered part of changing your character's appearance. Just as it would if you were to add or remove accessories, tattoos, clothing, etc.
"change your character appearance" is a very broad statement and could entail much

Stating what the game should have, doesn't make any sense in ESO media, like the in game chat or the forum. Yes, fanboyism is strong, but can you blame them? It is a payed feature and yet people seemingly buy it. ZOS can even charge the air your alts breathe if there are people willing to buy it. I believe it's just an initial wave where they charge for right about anything until people jump of the ESO wagon and they either downgrade it to a low population Sub To Play MMO or they adress major balancing, performance and content issues and shift to a non heavy microtransaction model that will only sell cosmetics, and will actually be luctractive to new incoming players.

You said it wasn't about hair. That aside take some time to create a character so you get the look you want and then stick with it. Personally I see no real reason to change appearances of characters. I tried different hair styles on a couple of mine then decided nope I like them the way they were.

Really I don't care if others want to change their looks but might as well cost real money and help support the game. Or bring back subscriptions for everybody. That would work too.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."

For the most part the crown store offerings are fairly cheap when the package is purchased. I do not see that as greedy and like it better than an in-game option.

    @Weasel_Tunneler

Other games, newer ones, charge their equivalent of crowns for appearance change. It is the way it is and I would suggest either get used to it or forget about it.

The only thing I can think Zos could do to improve it is to offer single item changes. Maybe 300 crown to change the hair color or change a scar.

BTW, Appearance change, if crowns are purchased on sale, is about $6. Maybe $12 if purchased at normal price. Considering a player does not have to pay anything to play the game after the initial purchase it makes sense this would be a crown store exclusive.

I don't think there's ever been an MMO that provides a free 'barber shop' where you can change your character's appearance for free. At least none of the ones I've played.

Barber shops are traditionally for hair &/or make-up changes: Basically anything we can do in front of the mirror at home. Appearance change is something quite different, and is more akin to racial/gender changing.

And because people disagree with you you call it 'fanboylism'? That is only going to get people offside. Putting others down or attacking them that don't agree with you is one certain way to get people not to take you and what you say seriously.

I myself prefer the current system in general, as it's way easier for me to just buy up the hair pack/other hairs and cosmetics I want, and switch freely between them on a whim. Compared to going to a specific location in-game and paying who-knows-how-much gold every time I want to try something new, this is way better for my situation. It's a small amount of cash for unlimited, account-wide, at-your-convenience freedom. I totally get that some folks don't have the cash for that, but that's just the way they've monetized this game, rather than a subscription model.

The only thing I can't personally stand is the gambling boxes and all the unique content locked away as an incentive to gamble. It's one thing to monetize your cosmetics while not requiring a sub, but it's another thing entirely to charge people and then frequently just not give them the items they're after, no matter how much they're spending on it. There should be absolutely nothing in those maligned gambling boxes that isn't available for normal purchase on the store.

I am sorry but I cannot agree with the current barbershop, in my opinion in game gold should be an option for simply changing hair or face. However I do think the cash shop is really good for what it is and this is really the only thing I disagree with.

Appearance tokens are not that expensive unless you have a very, very tight budget. It may be better just to reroll a character then. Either that or find a way to make some quick cash.

Also, I thought WoW was sub only. Makes a big difference.

Also, I see WoW has an appearance change for $15.

SWTOR charges their equivelent of crown for appearance change though it is a la cart unless changes race, there is a fee for changing race and if it is not unlocked you have to buy the race. All from their cash shop.
