Bloodthorn's Touch Set and Sorc Skills

So I am leveling a Sorc Tank focused more around magicka and noticed the Bloodthorn's Touch set. The icon says, "When you deal direct damage, you restore X magicka and stamina. This effect can only happen every 5 seconds."
Now my question is since I do not have a full set to test this out, will this proc with Liquid Lightning and Boundless Storm? The way I am setting up my tank is to have those two up almost constantly and if this set will proc off of it, it seems like an interesting set if my build has resource issues.

When a set says that it does some when you deal "direct damage" it usually procs off of attacks like Force Pulse, Surprise Attacks, light/heavy attacks.... skills that deal direct damage to your opponent. Not DoTs. "Direct damage" also applies to the first tick of some DoTs, like the initial hit from Destructive Touch. I don't think Liquid Lightening or Boundless Storm will work.

It helps, but since this game has (or had) some skills that would proc both DoT and direct damage and no way to tell what will do what besides actual testing it has hard to get a definite answer.
Farming the isn't worth it right now as my ton is still under lvl 50.
