No I'm not saying I'm Deltia, I'm linking his video as an example of how horrid this is. I know this is old news, I know it is,a nd technically nobody is forcing anyone to do anything but this is moving onto borderline predatory tactics to make money. Gambling addiction is a real thing, and while I wouldn't go so far as to say I have it I know others have had their lives ruined by gambling addiction. Crown crates are designed to prey on those people. If they want this stupid stuff to be in here, you shouldn't have to spend more than $50 really to get the things you want if that.
The crates aren't that big of a issue, they can be quite a nice little addition to add to any game. Heck I still have fun getting lootboxes from overwatch time to time. But the issue in this lies in how much a single crate costs and how there is no method to get them besides real world currency. Maybe if they gave a free lootbox, sorry I ment "crown crate" there, as a login reward or maybe allow users to purchase them via in-game currency then it wouldn't be that big of a issue for users with gambling problems, as proven with other games like overwatch.
"But wait!" come the deniers, "I spent less and got more! That makes your data fake!"
No, both sets of data are real. It just goes to show you how player-unfriendly the system is. Gambling boxes are a complete scam, and people should get the same reward for the same money spent. That's why only the proper Crown Store is appropriate, you know exactly what you'll get and can choose yourself if something is in your price range or not. None of this spending infinite money chasing games of chance.
