vFG2 is annoying & "post patch dungeon changes thread"

Not sure, if it was just so bad RNG or...

I was in the vet fungal grotto 2 yesterday, and what I saw just pissed me so badly. Actually second boss was doing chains every ~15 seconds, simply right after player was released from first chains, he starting to do second one and etc. It's just feels stupid. I even lost count of chains amount during fight. If it was increased difficulty, well, it's done in the most awful way of spamming one shot mechanics way too often. I'm not having problems with it beside one, that vFG2 already was one of the most ANNOYING dungeon, and this change was like a cherry on a cake.

Funny, that "link" was done only once in the boss fight ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

anyone noticed anything else after patch?
ps- my guildie said that mobs overall in CoH2 feels like were doing more damage, and Nierineth during his drain phase had to take more damage than usual, but I guess it's just his problem :p

Lot of mechanics tied to boss hp were buffed proportionally with 1T and it does not make sense. Nereith's shield when holds someone down is a good example - now you need a really decent dps to save the poor b'tard who gets nailed. If it does to one of the dds it's most likely death.

There are lot of similar issues that make vet runs a dps race where it should not be. These are mechanics that if followed should be completed with mediocre dps. Despite the name 'veteran' dungeons are meant to be grind-able for the masses who have understanding of the concepts & a decent gear. You can see this design all over the place. If the people know their jobs all can be completed with very little dps. Except a few things that probably got overlooked during the scaling to the current level.

I do a TON of farming vet FGII, collecting Viper for myself and friends, worm cult, etc. The second boss is pretty simple - you only need to kill 1 of the 4 mobs chaining a player down. I've consistently been able to DPS it down by myself in a duo. I suppose it does take around 20k DPS, but it's super easy to reach that.

Anyway I'm sure there are things that need to be looked at after 1T, it was a HUGE change.

yea, I know it's not hard and even when he spams chains all the time it's ok. Just this feels some kind of wrong, so I'm not sure, if it's supposed to be like that

I agree, but I think the issue is more that people underestimate the role of DPS and its requirements. If I use the groupfinder for Vet Dungeons, about 90% of the tanks and 95% of the healers are at least competent. They understand how to perform the role. They may not be good, but they're not bad enough to cause wipes.

But getting competent DPS is a coin-flip. You see an enormous number of players who have no idea how to build for DPS or what a proper rotation looks like. The combination of an easy leveling experience and a UI that provides no useful feedback means that many DPS have no idea that their 2H/ Resto Staff build is unsuitable for difficult content, or that spamming Snipe is terrible DPS, despite the occasional big hit.

Gamyne Bandu exposes this, as she is a DPS race which has a fair chance of disabling one of your two DPS. I don't think she is the problem, however. I think the game (and the UI) need to do a better job toward guiding players toward baseline competence.

There are a couple of things you can do to make sure that fight is a little easier. Make sure your healer can put on some DPS (Puncturing sweep, Jesus beam) if one of the DPS get's chained. Try to coordinate the attacks so that both of you are working on the same chain holder (OK guys, lets work on the guy holding the leg to our left). If you are little low on DPS, save your ultimates for the chain holders.

I consider the final boss far more annoying. OK, run to one part of the room, now back again, now back to the other side. Bleh :)
