1,000,000 Tel Var Stones spent on Waxed Apothecary Parcels - Video and Data

Notes:
• 1,000,000 Tel Var Stones spent
• 2000 Waxed Apothecary Parcels purchased
• Each Waxed Apothecary Parcel contained 18 reagents
• Altogether, I gathered 36,000 reagents for my 1M stones
• I cleared out my Character Inventory of everything except my Gold Undaunted Keys and Sigils of Imperial Retreat before attempting this. I had 198 inventory slots to make this happen.
• I cleared out my Crafting Bag of all green alchemy reagents (with the exception of exactly 3000 Fleshly Larva) before opening the Waxed Apothecary Parcels.
• The entire process took about 1 hour. However, around 40 minutes were purely spent opening Waxed Apothecary Parcels. It was legitimately painful to endure near the end :persevere:
• Due to the limitations of recording on PS4, I actually recorded 7 shorter videos and combined them. This shouldn't be noticeable at all, especially because I sped up the video a lot!

Results
* There are a total of 26 different reagents that can drop
* I listed how many of each type of reagent dropped for me

With this data, we now have a more accurate understanding of Waxed Apothecary Parcel loot tables. There is much more of a disparity between certain reagent drop rates than I had originally thought there would be. This is all great information to have....

....plus I'm kind of rich now :)

ENJOY!

I'd have to go sleepless chugging potions on cooldown for those 3 days! And that still probably wouldn't be enough

Very interesting. I'd noticed that the satchels did not drop Mudcrab Chitin or Torchbug Thorax, but hadn't realized the drop rates where otherwise skewed. Very stark differences.

The first thing I noticed when the bags came out, is that they did not drop torchbug thorax. I felt so cheated because that was one of three ingredients that I actually needed lol

Yeah but Columbine is extremely common which is amazing.

Combined with my previous stockpile, I now have 4.6K Columbine on me :D

You can make a solid million for each 2k columbine. I wouldn't know whether to sell mine or just use them

I really want to keep it all tbh...

Selling 1K is not out of the question, but the idea of having an unlimited supply of mats forever and all for myself makes the game a lot more fun :)

1vXing players on my Magicka Sorc. Groups ranging from 4-40 were my daily targets, back when skill was prioritized.

I made a good amount off of solo farming bosses while using Imperial Physique as well. Whenever I decided to wear that set I had 20-80K stones on me  I was just too good at the game with too powerful & clever a build. Practically unstoppable.

Nowadays I would not count on 1vX to make lots of Tel Var. Go for boss farming.

me too! I use them like they have an expiration date of two days from when I make them! Lol These parcels are a god send compared to the ridiculous prices for reagents before the parcels came out. On PS4/NA the even some-what-useful-plants were going for more than 1K each. Columbine was up around 1.5K

First ZOS kills off the enchanting market with the multiple runes drop change.

Then ZOS kills off the ruby materials market with One Tam (not to mention bots bots bots).

At the same time they also killed off the eqipment market with BoP on pretty much everything (unless you're fond of farming for Spinner and Spriggan sharpened weapons).

And now ZOS has finally killed off the alchemy market with thousands of thousands of reagents from alchemy satchels.

I mean, if you don't want people to spec for farming, trading and crafting in this game, why don't you just come out and say so instead.

And yes, this post is full of salty tears which I will immediately put up for sale (if anyone catches that little pun there).

On a more serious note, I'm in 5 of the top trading guilds on PC EU and they all pretty much tell the same story, trading is plummeting because people are running out of things to sell, or they're forced to sell stuff for a pittance, which makes it more tempting to just hoard it in your crafting bag instead of selling it for pennies.

And lol on the torchbugs and mudcrabs, makes absolutely zero sense why exactly those 2 don't drop from the satchels. Most likely just a fluke oversight that noone bothered to correct. Time to farm me some critters while I fish along the seaside then ;)

I don't think Apothecary Satchels are going to "kill" the Alchemy market. The guy spent 1 MILLION Tel Var. That's a freaking lot. Imperial City isn't the most popular destination, and people with that many Tel Var are far fewer. Sure, this guy could single handedly flood the market and drive the price down, but he's better off selling them gradually at the high prices they are now.

Are you on console or something? Surely anyone with Master Merchant and half a mind can see the direction prices are going. PC prices for alchemy reagents are at the point where it's barely worth the effort of collecting these anymore and putting them up for sale, not to mention the time it takes to move these goods, if you're even able to move them at all.
