Purchased mounts vs rare drop mounts

I don't mind people that like to purchase mounts, but for me personally there is more satisfaction from mastering some piece of particularly difficult content and battling RNGesus. What are the mounts in this game that signify a player has mastered the content as opposed to those that show one has higher disposable income?

There are no mounts unlocked via achievements.

    That is unfortunate.

There are a few pets, however.

Pets, Dyes and a couple of Polymorphs (as well as titles).

LOL. Oh God please no. It's bad enough them all hanging around the wayshrine like schoolkids trying to show off their CP's and titles, can you imagine if they all had matching 'earned' mounts.

    There's a reason they're called COSMETIC.

I agree. We dont need more RNGesus items in the game.

    ???

Players have worked hard for their CP, achievements, and titles ... what's wrong with that?

Yeah, we don't need those rewards! It should be reward enough to look in the mirror, give myself a thumbs up and say "I accomplished that thing in a virtual world. Good job me! Now I feel real proud of myself."

Id rather worry about real life rewards.
You know, things like getting a college degree, buying a house, a car, getting a raise or promotion, having a family and being able to retire in moderate comfort some day.
I dont need video game rewards to feel good about myself.

Well if you consider subbing for 9 months straight from launch as an achievement then the sench tiger was the reward. I still buy mounts but I don't know why cos nothing will take the place of my hench tiger lol.

And I have worked just as hard to make over 50 million gold legitimately without flipping, ripping or skipping, and don't even get a little Koala Badge to pin on my chest. Nope? So whatever.

What the **** is with the internet today. Entire comments just deleted from existence. I HAD edited that the OP should of course feel very good about achieving what they have. But you shouldn't need a mount. You shouldn't even need a Title. And least of all you shouldn't rely on a game to validate your existence.

Honestly. Tell your buddies and your guildies and they'll give you a grats, but a lot of us don't give a ****. You've more a chance of stopping me with a well thought out wardrobe or striking attention to a characters dye job than with any weird goth smurf polymorph or the ubiquitous 'Flawless Conqueror' Title :) They're just background noise now.

Should make a title call "Moneybags" or something for people that bank a certain amount of gold.

The closest to a cosmetic item to show skills would be the alternate skins. There's one you could buy from the Crown store back when available, but there are three (and arguably the cooler looking ones) for completing PVE achievements involving top-tier content.

Personally I'm not impressed by anyone else's pixels but my own. I wear and ride what I think looks cool for my character. My female wood elf NB has a wolf mount. it suits her. My old man templar with bald head and mustache looks good on a horse. That's good enough for me. And I bought both mine when I was awarded a bunch of crowns when I went ESO+. Beyond that, I don't care. I just enjoy the game.

And that's exactly how it should be. Just enjoy the game for the games sake. The time and effort you've put into your alts appearance actually shows me that you are playing the game. 1000+CP's or Flawless Conqueror titles mean nothing to me. Every 2nd patch they've fixed another instantaneously spawning NPC that a certain group of people bot farm for CP's. I've seen it with my own eyes. So don't be impressed anyway with what their alt 'tells' you about itself, but about how their alts 'tell' it.
