ESO plus exp. gain more than 10%?

Me and my friend have been leveling together since we both started our new characters and she has ESO plus while I don't. While having the membership exp gain shouldn't mean much it seems to have been accidentally boosted as she is already 2 levels above me while I have done 2 quest chains that she has not. Please answer my question as this is really making me mad as I am trying to stay the same level as her so that I can give her the gear that I don't need.

LinearParadox✭✭✭✭✭Most XP comes from grinding mobs honestly. If you do the numbers, quest completion gives, on average, about as much XP as 10-30 enemies depending on the quest and enemies, which means that someone who rushes quest chains as opposed to someone who 'clears' mobs from a quest area, will likely get less overall XP.
This is why you'll see vets, when leveling a new character, will run main quest chains because they give the highest XP rewards as well as skill points, then just go to a grinding location and monotonously grind hoards of enemies for hours; it's actually more efficient than playing the game's content.
