I joined a random normal (I needed it for my daily) and found myself a friendly new player to engage in dialogue with.

I decided to give him a helping hand.

I met a CP161 two days ago who needed some nice gear crafted so he could level up faster during his PvE questing adventures.

He was a Magicka Sorc. I gave him some spare Willpower jewelry I had and crafted him:
    - 5x Seducer Light armor (chest, hands, belt, legs, feet)
    - 5x Julianos Light armor (chest, hands, belt, legs, feet)
    - 2x Magnus Medium Shoulders and Heavy Headpiece
    - 1x Magnus Inferno/Ice/Lightning/Resto Staff

CP160. Training armor, Sharpened weapons. Purple quality armor/weapons/glyphs.

Being as I have tons of mats saved, I can do this for some people and it doesn't even affect my material stockpile much at all.

I occasionally run trivia contests in newb zones and give out full blue sets of armor(like level 10 with set bonuses). :) I love spreading the love!

I agree. I try when I can. Help new players out or those calling for help on boss pits or when someone needs bit of mats here and there. Not to boast or anything, I did bought horses for a few players cause I couldn't stomach anymore seeing them trekking on foot everywhere.

I ran into this guy in Cyro a couple of weeks ago. He was level 30 something maybe. And he kept saying in voice chat "Come on my friend, let's defend Cropsford for our lives! ARRRHG". I wasn't sure if he was roleplaying, or slow, or just a 14 year old kid. But i thought it was kinda funny.

Normally i would have just rolled my High Elf eyes and left, but i decided to stick around for a while and protect him like he was my child LOL.

Act of Kindness i guess :)

As a new player not that long ago, I was struggling in a public dungeon trying to simply grab the skyshard and get out. After dying several times, a CP561 asked if I wanted to group. I gratefully said yes! Well, he was a magic templar and ran 'overwatch' for me, healing, buffing as needed and simply exploding enemies if things got too hard. He not only led me to the skyshard but then to the boss as well. He kept me so buffed and healed that I was able to take the boss down. To this day, I vividly remember all his special auras and effects - the most memorable was what I soon learned was repentance.

It is no coincidence that very soon after, I created a new character - a magic templar healer. Now, when I see a young character struggling you can bet that I go out of my way to spread some of that magplar goodness their way to help.

Yeah, it feels good to be nice.

Had a friend of a friend join us in party chat the other day and in conversation he mentioned that he needed to go buy some soul gems as he was down to his last 50. I simply mailed him one of the many stacks I had free of charge.

I have also given out countless repair kits and soul gems to complete strangers when doing dungeons in PUG's.

My wife and I were doing a random normal, in reality we could 2 person it with our characters. We get 2 players, 1 is level 40 and one is level 15. At one point the level 15 fell off one of the ledges (VoM) and dies. The level 40 says "kick the noob". The two of us both say no and we carry the 2 of them through. I whisper the level 15 and told them not to worry, we're not kicking them. He thanked me and asked for some advice on build, etc. He had just gotten the game 2 weeks before.

Looking back, we probably should have kicked the level 40 out to teach him a lesson about being a jerk to new players.

My other act of kindness was some guildies (both low cp level) asking for a help in normal Darkshade 2 on the final boss. Turns out their tank and healer both bailed, they got a new tank and healer and they bailed. So I brought my healer, tried to get a tank and after failing to find one, told them lets just 3 person it. Got tons of thanks after helping them complete their first pledge.

Not a requirement or overtly expected, but an act of such received from someone else is also rewarding. Like when you jump in to help someone asking for help in a boss pit or quests, then afterward, the requestor says, "Thank you." There is no ill-feeling if no gratitude is given and all went their merry ways afterward, but when you get that thank you, when least expected, it does perk you up a bit.

I have a guild with hubby and lots of times when we get new members they're really really new (like level 10 new) so they don't know much about leveling and when they ask I craft for them training sets of armor for free. It's become like a welcoming gift at this point. And of course make it at least green because nobody likes white armor. One of our regulars has decided to become a "mystery donor" of materials for this enterprise as well. Because, you know, new people don't usually have their own materials.
