What is the point of the existing "Collectible" items?

Is there currently a point to the existing items marked as "Collectible"? Will these be able to be used in the housing system? Are they just vendor trash?

Trophy Achievements. Getting them counts towards the achievement; you can immediately sell them.

Probably going to have something to do with housing as well, since we know its connected to achievements and that they will be applied retroactively.

After you get them the first time, yes, they're vendor trash.

If you go into your trophies many of them do play some sort of special effect, some of which are amusing.

No, they're not like collectibles in, say, Lord of the Rings Online that are meant for home display.
