Heard from a guildie that the gear cap is going to be increased with the next DLC. I asked around and everyone thinks so too.. Is this true?
I play how I want to.

Unless there is a way to improve our current gear. Then doing that will completely destroy alot of people's will to play. After that farming the double drop of vma, we would have to redo, after farming trials, we would have to redo.

ZOS has said if they do, it won't be anytime soon, and have said nothing of the sort in regard to Update 13. Please tell your guildie to not spread misinformation.

For PvE unless a new trial is introduced in the next 2 DLCs the top players will lose interest out of sheer boredom.. For PvP people are already losing interest due to the sheer imbalance and server lag issues. Another way to keep interest in the game is to increase gear cap and make us do the grind all over again.. Thats why people think ZOS would take the easy way out..
I play how I want to.

Lol how would an increase of gear level keep players motivated to keep playing.
A new trial and other things todo keep us playing adding another level of grind wt this point will push more away then anything else.

But it wouldnt surprise me if they did combined withthe option to buy tempers from the CS, i really really hope that will never happen.

Incoming transformation stone on crown store. For 20$ you can purchase this stone and apply it to any piece of equipment you would like to upgrade to max level. Or you can learn a new trait at your crafting stations that will allow you to upgrade your eq, but it takes a year in real time to learn...

i welcome it, and i hope it does happen. there is good reasons to get good new gear. for one. i would be able to do more damage and for two i hope it opens the door for crafting better armor then what is able to be farmed.
we have armor that you can farm that is better then what can be crafted and that was something they said would never happen.

You do know if gear cap increased then all gear will increase, including dropped sets? Not just crafting sets.

You'd have to grind for new mats as well.

Pretty sure if this does happen it'll be the final nail in the koffin of eso.

A lot of maxed end game pve + pvp's will be just call it a day there.

In order to keep interest in pve's more dungeons/ arena's/ trials etc...

For pvp's, fix the inbalance and bring battle grounds.

    It's not hard.

They said this quite long ago. Also they said lot of things in the past then gone completely the other way. So my guess we'll have to wait and see in January.

As we now know Homestead is the next ESO:TU release coming in January/February. Considering it is primarily a non-combat related release, I can't really see there being any champion point equipment cap increase. And really nor should there be.
If you can be anything, be kind.

Caps always always get increase is every mmo I have ever played and guess what? People don't leave they just farm out the gear or craft new gear it sucks no one is saying it's super fun time or anything but it's part of an mmo. It keeps people playing and working for goals. I don't think it's going to happen anytime soon but it will happen eventually like VR10 VR12 VR14 VR16 CP160
    Like caps to CP, cp501 cp531 cp561

Growth and change happen in mmo it's what the player base is use to this does not drive them away it keeps them playing. A stagnant game that never changes and you use the same build same lvl same gear is what people leave.

I agree new trials and DLC helps its change but at the same time it's only part of the change that needs to happen.

I hope they never increase the gear cap. I don't want to get my very first monster helm set only to loose it to some 260CP blue.

Well, let's take the good ol' WoW as an example. Every gear cap increase came along with a lot of new content.
People did not stay to do the same grind over and over again.
We stayed because of the new content!
Our old gear became obsolete, but we didn't care because it was replaced by better gear along the way, while we enjoyed the new content..

Maybe with the introduction of Vvardenfell there'll be a lot new quests/dungeons/trials that will reward "CP 180" (or whatever the new cap might be) gear.. and I'll probably be happing playing it.
Only ZOS has a major problem regarding all the overland sets and monster sets and vMA weapons that will still be BiS gear - and in order to min/max you'll have to do the same grind again (and a lot of people hate it already, bc of the poor and unrewarding RNG system!). And that is something that will definitely drive people away...

Because the game is no longer new. RNG is some of the worst. VMA is dumb. Tempers are dumb.
This recent update has made me sad. Sad for the game. Sad for the community. Sad to pay whatever it is now. I want the previous eso back.

As Long as there is no Gear Cap Increase, I think, I will not Play ESO.

Why ? Because Searching for better Gear to increase my Char is essential for my Motivation. I really have good gear, so I dont Need to grind the 100th different set, just to try the seventh build...for what ?

    Just my two Cents...
