Ever since the One Tamriel update, my menus (among other things) lag a lot when I enter or exit the menu screen. Because of the lag, I have wasted many items in my inventory. I have bound countless armor, weapon, and jewelry pieces and have wasted many motifs and recipes on my non-crafting characters. I have lost incredible amounts gold because there is no confirmation step. Tonight I was in my inventory and the lag bit me again. I used a gold Imperial motif on a non crafting player.. needless to say, I wasn't too happy. so PLEASE add some sort of 2nd step/ confirmation step.. give us an opportunity to back out of a costly mistake.

My game slows down horrendously in cities now, with players and their cursed dueling. I wish they'd just let us phase them out. I don't want to see them. Make them and their damned lag disappear!

But what you suggest should be relatively to implement as a config option - adding a confirmation step upon use of motifs and bindable equipment. And probably more than a few players would appreciate it.

I agree it's a shame that the game itself does not have an option like that.

If you're on PC, there's at least some remedy in the form of the addon "FCO ItemSaver".
    Kind regards,

Ive always thought it was odd that I have a confirmation box for traveling to a wayshrine at the massive cost of 149 gold. But none on equipment and other valuable items which could have cost me hours farming or thousands of gold.

I'm all in favour, as long as there's a toggle in settings to allow the confirmation requirement to be checked or unchecked. Those not suffering from lag or other causes of such mistakes won't want to have to confirm every little thing.

I for one personally wish they removed the "One Tamerial" ability of the game. I've never supported the idea and I hate seeing other alliance players outside of Campaigns. But since that will not happen. Yes I agree to the suggestion you have made for I also have wasted many items due to the lagging issue in the game.

I totally agree with this. There is a line to cross between helpful and tedious/unnecessary. I dont want to confirm every decision I might encounter, just the decision whether to equip/use certain items in my inventory. Obviously I dont want to confirm use of food, drinks, potions, poisons, etc... or maybe the confirmation is auto-disabled once an item is quick slotted

not trying to get the PC vs console war going but there are many factors besides hardware specs, that contribute to lag.

Just curious, but what factors are those? I mainly play on my PC and Laptop and haven't seen any framerate issues.

I've seen 'lag' (in its correct usage of the term) from server ping jumping up in certain situations. But those issues don't quite have any impact on inventory issues like what was referenced in the OP.

um.. latency, packet loss, server side hardware specs... anyway.. the issue is when scrolling through inventory to select an item and you experience a split-second hiccup where the game does not respond which sometimes can and does result in selecting the wrong item.. since it has been the wish of every internet user, since the dawn of the internet, to reduce/eliminate lag.. i thought it might be easier to add a simple confirmation step instead of the current one-and-done, no backsies

also.. "lag" is not subject to a single "correct usage" it is a generic term for any and all causes of the reduction of action to reaction time.
