[Suggestion] When entering a dungeon already in progress, port to the nearest boss that was killed.

I am fairly new to this game, I played in beta and it was a disgusting launch. Decided to come back and I'm in love, there's just some quality of life things that I feel should be implemented.

I enjoy dungeons, but I usually get put in a dungeon that is about 3/4 of the way complete, takes a few minutes for me to even be able to port in, and once I'm in it takes another few minutes to get to the group. We all know people don't like waiting, and I can't blame them.

Maybe add "checkpoints" in the dungeon, and when a player is tossed into the mix mid-run, it ports him to the last cleared "checkpoint" preferably at a boss or some event (if that's even a thing in dungeons here)

Isnt this a thing since one tam?

The blue rune looking portal at the entrance?

Very possible that I've overlooked that, is it called something specific? I can't seem to find anything about it in the one tam patch notes from Sept.

As the subsequent poster points out, they already have this.

What I mostly wanted to comment on was you saying this game had a disgusting launch. Because I have to tell you - as someone who has been through multiple game launches - ESO had a really good one.

Most games barely even work at launch with massive bugs and server capacity issues that prevent players from even being able to log in, let alone play. By comparison ESO's launch was one of the better game launches I've ever been a part of.

It's the opposite with me, one of the best launches I've been through in recent years was Rift, and then that went south. Granted, that's just my opinion and I respect your opinion that ESO had a good launch.

Back on subject though, can you elaborate on what the portal does? I've seen it before, and I have used it, but it was for some sort of quest and it did nothing to get me to the members of my group, it just tossed me somewhere randomly. Does it sent you to the most recent downed boss? Active player? Soft checkpoint?

From what i can tell it goes to the most recent boss killed.

Blue portal; you go through it and it takes you to the location of where the furthest boss along your dungeon progression was defeated.
If you can be anything, be kind.

Fantastic, thanks a ton for that information! I was unaware of what that actually did.

Yeah it takes you to the last boss that was killed. Sometimes there can still be a bit of a run.

Most recent MMORPGs I can think of have had God awful launches. As an example - SWTOR's launch was so bad it was weeks before I was even able to log in to that game at all - let alone play relatively bug free. Final Fantasy 14's launch - even the second one - wasn't much better and had massive server errors that kept thousands of players offline for nearly a month. It was so bad they had to give players refunds on their first month subscriptions.

When you enter a dungeon where some bosses have already been killed, look for a blue portal: it will bring you closer to your group.

One of the worst, if not the worst launch for me that I was really looking forward to succeeding was Black Desert Online, my lord that was a bad time.

I didn't try that one because it lacked a class that interested me. But I have read it had a lot of serious problems on launch.
