VOTE ESO for best MMO of the year!!!!!!!!

I'd say ESO is the least worst MMO making the rounds right now. Best implies quality and such, and there's quite a lack of it.

    No Dev <-> Community communication
Balance has gone to hell in a handbasket
    Scammy cash shop
Archaic rendering API (it still bloody uses D3D 11)
    Shoddy server hardware
    Static game world
    Segmented environment (zones)
    Inconsequential "campaign"
    Absolutely terrible customer service
    The grind

The contest should be "The 2016 MMO with a modicum of merit"

I find it funny how TERA has a 8.9 rating compared to ESO with a lower 8.8 rating... played TERA for a few months and couldn't bare it with the lack of content, constant boobs around every corner, gender locked classes, way more expensive cash shop. Not to mention the terrible combat, no voice acting, cheesy story and most cancerous community I've ever seen in an online game.

ESO on the other hand I'm 140 days play time in and still barely feel like I've scratched the surface.

Makes me wonder who on earth is rating these games, probably some journalist who hasn't even played it past level 10 :D

I know right! We have come a long way from where we were! I think ESO deserves it for sure.

Eyy there are still so many problems that get ignored, zos don't seem to take in feedback etc...

In pvp your damage is 75% from armor.

In pve it's like 90% magicka builds.

Yep, same. I complain out of love, because I want the game to be better. If we didn't care we would just leave :)
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

My vote is in an apex crown crate, which ZOS will need to pay in order to open.

PS: I'm not telling you the drop rate.

So try your luck eh ZOS?
Buy another crate, I have a good feeling you'll get something wonderful.
    I admire your tenacity!
A very lucky draw! Look at all of these crown store potions!

I am surprised at the low votes wow gets with its millions of players, if they had a most cheated or exploited mmo of the year eso would win hands down LOL

I still vote for eso why not nothing else out there yet.

Eve Online is the only true massively multiplayer game on this list but I didn't play it that much this year. Mostly I logged in to refresh my training queue.

Guild Wars 2 has far better social design features but I didn't enjoy the game world.

ESO, on the other hand, held my attention for most of the year and I feel the Tamriel One concept was extraordinary while also reducing cost of revenue. Thus it got my vote.

Many thanks @Thealteregoroman for posting that link :p

I would guess that many WoW players consider these votes to be something of a contest for 2nd place.

This is aside from the fact that they have never heard of this site, no reason to care about the site, and are not even looking for another game to play.

ESO has issues yes but for me its by far the best game i played so far it gave me so many hours of fun already and it still isnt boring most of the time.

When things got to annoying i tried to quit and play other games none lasted longer then a few hour beofre i was back on eso.

i hope they dont give up on the game and keep trying to fix it

Maybe i need eso rehab :o

sry but in my opinion, game of the year award should only go to games that were released over the last 365 days.

GW2 is a fantastic game, with a poor and predictable story and shallow, uninteresting characters (with a few exceptions). They use the same writing tricks for "feels" several times, and I can't overlook that. The story is the most important thing in an RPG in my opinion. If ANet only had better writers, I would definitely vote for GW2 over ESO.
