Will you be able to share a house with someone? Like share full ownership of the house and all the stuff?

I didn't read anything about sharing, just that certain people can decorate and visit if you choose.

    Short answer, NO.

There's at least one other thread that hashes over why.

The link essentially has the information that can be provided.

There is the ability to grant another permissions but two accounts (2 players) cannot actually co-own a home. It's the best way to hands home ownership

Doesn't work that way. And rewriting that much code to allow it to work that way is not likely to happen.

Best that can be hoped for is settings that allow someone else to use your home as if they were co-owners, change the decorations, add new people to the access lists, and so on. But in the final word, it will still be one owner as far as the game system is concerned...

Can't wait until people start renting out houses.

It wouldn't really be that much code to add or require much more work based on what they already have available.

Look at the guild system allowing multiple leaders. You wouldn't need 2 owners. Just an owner and as many co-owners as you want. The owner is the true owner, but the others have full access to the settings just like in guilds with their ranks. They already allow for decorators and friends. They also have the settings for the owner. All it would take is a combination of these settings and it's literally no new code that needs to be wrote, just copy and paste basically haha... ok maybe a bit harder than that, but you get the idea. ;)

I just want to be able to properly share a house with someone without being able to share account bound and BoP items.

It comes down to the Mounts & Pets...

Yes you can give the "co-owner" the right to add decorations & move things around, but they can't take your stuff or display their own mount in your stable.

It seems like the Housing Editor is going to access YOUR collections directly for trophies & mounts & pets.

Where co-ownership was very important was in Ultima Online. That game has landscape housing meaning that there was a limit on the number of houses you could have on any shard. Plus housing in UO was extremely important to game play due to its ability to allow you to store items...thousands of items.

With instanced housing there is no limit and housing has a very different role. They don't tend to be in-game social centers, there are no rare spots to place a house, and, in ESO, there's no storage.

As close to that as I imagine we'll come is Guild Halls if/when they add them.

They may not be technical owners exactly... what I meant though is you can set a rank like vice leader with all the permissions of the guild leader, with the exception of being able to kick/promote/demote the leader. They're basically a co-owner at that point.

    @DeadlyPhoenix

Guilds only allow for one guild leader. A second rank called guild leader can be created but those in that rank are not actually the real guild leader based on how the game is build.

Housing will have only ike actual owner just the same though one can grant many privileges to another but not actually share ownership.

It's the best way to handle it.

Edit: I see in a more recent post you actually understand this but merely explained it incorrectly in what I quoted.

That exists with the Mara rings. You can't wear multiple rings, but you can marry multiple people who can marry multiple people and end up with a guild where everyone's married to everyone else.

I did, but the search function sucks.

Use duckduckgo.com (or google if you like being spied on) and append site:forums.elderscrollsonline.com to your search terms.
Even on the internet, clear communication is important; it can be the difference between "helping your Uncle Jack off a horse" and "helping your uncle jack off a horse"; the difference between "knowing your s***" and "knowing you're s***".
