Request for a "throwback or LIMITED SERVER"...

Trying to stay positive,
I know a lot of people (myself included) who felt the game was more fun before Destro Ult's and Proc Sets.

So what if there was one server with limited gear? Like "only crafted" sets and No Weapon Ults?

I get it, the PVE people love the OP stuff... but PvP is just silly now. You have 100 sets, and everyone is either carrying a destro staff or running some Viper variation. Don't you track any of that? You'd see like 95% of your sets were just a waste of time.
Sometimes it feels like Call of Duty. Run to the battle, if it's big groups they are just stacking their destro ults... if you go solo a nightblade will hit you with 3 or 4 procs..

the high quality battles are gone, wouldn't mind trying to get some of them back.

If anything, I'd at least like a PVP server that has a restriction on monster helms.

There is a large balance update coming that has been spoken about quite a few times.

I doubt they have the resources or anything to make another Nostalrius.

I agree that is is a bit of a pain in PvP, but they can't fix the lag in the servers now, let alone make another with a "throwback" theme.

I don't think that the game is old enough to warrant a legacy server, nor would it be profitable for Zenimax to make one. Not only would it split up the player base, nullifying OT, but it would also stop a huge portion of the player-base from purchasing all future DLC (assuming you are referring to a version of the game that does not progress). I am no PvPer, I only do PvE, so take what I say with a grain of salt, but I believe your efforts would be better spent in attempts of reforming these issues you bring up. In conclusion, Zenimax is never going to create any more servers unless we see a huge spike in the player-base.

Server with softcaps would litterally have most of the playerbase migrate to that server.

But lol far as I see it the last competitive MMO that I played was Eve Online. A skilled 15M skill points players killing 1vX potatoes 100 plus million SP just throw skill points at the problem players. All of the other MMOs I've played since had no balance. Just PvE time and PvE gear and in some cases yes even money just means you win in PvP despite if the other players are more skilled then you or not. I haven't played a MMO since that didn't have PvE as it's main attraction despite what the marketing department false advertise.

High quality PvP battles in this day and age has no place in a MMORPG like ESO, GW2, or FFXIV. It's all about who can grind the most PvE, or who can spend the most money in MMOs these days. That's why MOBAs have taken off so big to the point they eclipse MMOs by alot with mostly just cosmetic items at that. Because these days MMOs are just meant to be time and money spenders. Not games where competitive PvP happens.

That's why I don't think their will ever be a MMO in the future that will have high quaility skill based PvP. That stuff just don't sell in MMOs anymore.

True the only thing that would make both playerbase happy is two different servers one for PvP and one for PvE. Each having different rules or versions of the game altogether. Other then that again is MMO dev teams have to decide to either cater to the so few PvPers or the many casual PvEers. Well sadly that's a easy decision in my books.

Zos will not make a niche server. Just not a good business decision.

They will continue to modify the game based on feedback, metrics from the game and their vision just as any MMO does.

What timeframe in terms of month/year?

I personally would like it just after the "lighting patch" update

Why not a normal pvp campaign.

All white non-set gear only. Everything else disabled. No cp.
Class and skill v class and skill without elite gear and months of epic acquisition turning the tide.

Well people have run around with destro staff and use differensince set since day 1 of this game so it is nothing new heck the was even those DK that use destro staff to tank with at the start of ESO so why would thing have change since then.

Really? Is it because of the overhead costs to run the server? That is the only reason I can think of why it wouldn't be a good idea. I'm mean the PvE and the PvP communities for the most part was always at odds with each other sharing the same skills. Breaking them up into 2 servers with different rules just sounds like the right thing to do. Maybe also double the speed balance patches releases as well.

This is really this community in a nutshell.

Everyone complains about how CP is messing everything up. But when ZOS then give us a no cp campaign - people just keep complaining. Now the problem is that they removed softcaps. So we cant play without our CP suddenly... smh

I will guarantee you, if they did a throwback/limited thing, no one would go there. They would still line up for Trueflame garbage. That is what happens everyday.

But seriously. Go to BwB for old school PvP. No procsets, no monster helms and only crafted armor. You are welcome.

The way I read this, more is wanted. First people blamed other people having more CP for their cyrodil deaths, now they blame other people having better gear, or better skills, maybe better food buffs as well...

I am guessing, they want a "nudist" campaign, where people have no gear, and no weapons, and everyone is the same, flailing at each other with their bare fists... and even then they would whine about the player who had a more muscled avatar, or stuff like that I presume...

Nice dated thread. If Blizzard are only just tolerating it because they're generally a more engaged and experienced company what makes you think that any company, anywhere, ever, is going to accept a business model where people can choose to ignore the new content and changes they put out and spend time on outdated software which gains them no income?
