Dungeon Tool needs a redesign IMMEDIATELY

ZOS WTF??? I was in a dungeon for the first time of my eso-life and then, euphoric as I was, I activated the dungeon finder tool to do another run. I got an instant invite and after a few seconds an instant kick - but why? Because the tool set me as Tank by DEFAULT!!?? I am not a tank! And it also isn't intuitive to have to click on the tank role symbol to deactivate it. It's intuitive to choose what I am and everything else then is not active. What the [snip] is this about? Do you want to ruin players gameplay experience by default? How can this never have been reported and recognized?

No, I'm just disappointed. Why am I - and the group I was sent to was it too - punished for using the tool? WHY?

@ZOS_GregoryV could you please give an answer whether this will be adressed in the near future? If you rather prefer to edit my posts camouflaged because you don't give a [snip] about what I'm saying, then just do so. My ESO+ will expire on Sunday. Should there be reasons to prolong it or should there be reasons to not prolong it? I'm excited.

The employee you tagged is a forum moderator, not a game developer. He edited your thread since it did not abide the Community Rules. Your ESO Plus subscription is irrelevant to your complaint.

Ummmm why can't you just change what you are queued as? A whole lot easier for you to click a button rather than change the coding and possibly screw up group finder even more.

It reads like you didn't click tank but then you write your role was a tank but then you said you were kicked right away?

So I've not been assigned a role that wasn't selected.
Did you maybe select it without knowing or are you selecting multiple roles ?

No. And my (and your) subscription is the most relevant aside crown shop purchases. We'll see if my subscription really is not that important at all - if so, then income via crown shop is sufficient and subscriptions are meh. But if not ... maybe I'll get an answer here.

It's not. It's a major design failure. And if I'm not taken seriously by ZoS employees, I do not take them seriously too. I'm downloading Black Desert right now. Congrats Gregory and ZoS, u lost a customer, good job, well done.

Doubtful that you were kicked because "role was set as tank". You were unfortunately a victim of the MANY bugs that exist with the dungeon finder. It adds too many to the group (more than 4) and will either kick the extras or disband the group entirely.

I used the tool for the very first time. There was no explanation. I got an instant invite. I was transfered into an area I've never been before. I started running to the group. In group chat I was asked what role I play. I answered DD/Heal. Then I was kicked. I again opened the tool window, when I saw that the tank role was chosen by default. I whispered one of the group: Did you expect a Tank? Answer: Yes. I explained. Answer: Hmmm. I clicked on DD - worked. I clicked on Heal - didn't work. Because I first had to deactivate the Tank role by clicking on it, because it was set as the default role. No, no, no - this is utterly bad design, hell, this is moret bad design I never ever experienced in any other mmo before. This is just stupid. And I won't pay for stupid design.

I do think it wouldn't hurt to have new users have to specifically select their role before being able to use the tool.
It's a minor tutorial for players to be aware that they're supposed to be able to fill a specific role for group content.

Your right that system isn't great, but the main selling point of ESO has been to play your own way. Anyone can run whatever they want, which is why it's down to us players to choose our roles, there are to many possibilities in terms of sets, cp distribution and attribute point distribution for the game to be trying to decide what role we are fullfilling.

It's your first time using the system and what happened is down to your lack of understanding of how the system works as much as the system is bad.

It's a 15 minute timer so pick your role and just queue back up when you can, no problem, no threads, no drama.

Yeah, actually u can excuse everything with "play your own way". But I do not. Bad design is bad design. And the reaction of ZoS employee Gregory was bad design too. There's only one step left for me to take myself seriously - to quit ESO.
