Solution without nerfs

I saw many nerf threads and I thought that there should be a solution that will be acceptable for both PvE and PvP players. If we look at the main problem of damage output in Cyrodil I came to a conclusion that the issue revolves around the ultimate abilities. Thus the possible way would be to disable all ultimate abilities inside cyrodil. As for proc sets, it could be done likewise; disabling allproc sets inside cyrodil. This way proc sets can be used in PvE for those who like them and destro ulti won't be nerfed hurting PvE players.

    ^^^. Agree since it would make DKs weapon in regen when in that campaign.

    Would need to remove all passives that add regen or cost reduction from all classes. That may impact other aspects requiring further changes.

    In other words, OPs suggestion is probably unworkable.

    Exactly. It is a ridiculous proposition for anyone who has played DK. Ultis are part of their resource management and one of the things that make the class. While I play stam. DK, I believe this is especially true for mag. DKs, whose abilities are expensive and who are often resource starved.

    Considering the only way to burst my target down on a mdk is to call down a meteor from the sky, I don't think I'd ever use a no-ultimate campaign.

    I do agree that Dk losess this passives but so ulti reduction of sorcs (power stone) and ulti generation of nightblades (potion for 20 ult pts) become also useless, making this not so valid argument. The resource menagement issues would be replaced wwith utility sets like Litch for magDK if there would be no proc sets, which I also suggested.

    So you are conceding that mag. DKs would be forced into a regen. set. What's making up for the lost damage? They don't have an execute and have trouble developing burst, as it is. Their typical burst, that I see in duels, is Meteor -> Fossilize -> Whip.

    What I am saying is that everyone would be forced in utility sets. Moreover what I was proposing was a removal of ultimates inside cyrodil not in duels. There is a non-cp campaing but there is no non-cp dueling, or I missed something? Besides, devs promised reworking of DKs in update 13.

    I don't think that's a smart solution it takes away a to big of a aspect combat. proc sets hit as hard as ults which a problem when they go of every to 4 to 8 secs my magdk in pve with no gold armor and weapons and no maelstrom weapons skoria hits for 30k which is crazy high
