"We even have a little something for diligent Mages Guild scholars: copies of Shalidor's Library books, which can be placed as real books and read from your home, can be purchased from Mages Guild merchants after you've found and completed a set."

Does this mean if we found all the books on a character we won't have to grind anymore with new characters? We can just read them from our home?

Loving this future update already!

I would weep actual tears of joy if that were the case. Chances are, though, that we will simply be able to read them (y'know, open the books and flip through them) without receiving Mages Guild credit for them. I doubt they want to give new characters access to things like Meteor right off the bat with no work required...

I'd love to be proven wrong, though.

I'm sure it's something like that :( But this whole mages guild grinding is the reason why I prefer to not make new magicka characters. Took too long to find all the books on my main -.-

But all characters have access to your house. So they would be available to all your characters right away. Question is if you will get credit for it on your other characters for reading them.

Not true, it's actually less than to actually go find the books.

I wouldn't get my hopes up. It probably will work the same as the horses. The horse is the same, but the riding speed is character bound. Either the books will disappear when you change characters or they won't do anything until you find it with that character.

Certainly an interesting idea, I hadn't thought of that! But there will probably be something preventing other characters from using them to rank up.

It will be some sort of anthology I'm guessing. E.g. "Writings from the Alik'r" or some such when you find all the lore books in the desert. I think it's extremely unlikely you'll get a copy of all the books verbatim.
If you can be anything, be kind.

Yeah. So when one character completes a set, they buy the books and put them in the house. Then another character on your account comes along and reads the books in the house... and what happens next?

Uh huh. I found them all on my first 8 characters. If I get the house, then I guess the last 4 will be able to instantly get the experience from reading them, no going out and hunting required.

That might not quite be what was intended.
