Yeah, you should be able to check your listings in all of your guild stores to find the rogue 50 mil item, if you did indeed do what support says you did. Presumably it won't have sold so it'd still be there, unless it was canceled in which case it'd be in your mail. And if someone actually bought it... well, that'd also be in your mail, and I presume you wouldn't have anything to complain about if you found 50 mil in your inbox. :D

    Good afternoon everyone,

Yesterday I logged in to the game after being 2 days away. 400k gold are missing from my main character's inventory. I do not use the bank, I always carry everything, and my alts just have a few thousands. I checked bank / all alts / etc, but nope, the gold is missing all of a sudden. I have not spent it, hell, I haven't even played in 2 days. Nobody knows my account info, but anyway, I know I have not been hacked since all my items are in my bank and not all my gold disappeared.

I have already sent a ticket to support (I sent it yesterday actually) but I have not received any reply from them. That's why I am posting this here in case this has happened before to any of you guys and, if so, I would appreciate any info on what on earth to do to recover the gold that just disappeared.

@ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom Please I would appreciate any insights :disappointed:

Did you ask your wife? :D

xD My husband doesn't have access to my computer, nobody does. That's what support also suggested, but nah, I prefer to keep my password a scret lol.

They replied to me and said that I listed an item and the listing costs were 500k (what the hell, I wish I had an item that was worth that much ). They won't tell me which item was it or in which guild I posted it, and, I quote "But as we do not see this account being compromised, customer support will not be providing any compensation. "

So, whatever happened, it's still a mystery but since I know I won't get any compensation I decided to unsub and keep playing but definately not spend all the hours farming mats to sell since one day your money can just disappear :disappointed:

ok then just to be clear, as im not sure i understand.

you are saying that you listed an item in a guild store for 500,000 gold and that item then SOLD for 500,000 gold, you were paid the gold [500,000] and then a few days later the gold [500,000] was missing because you over priced that item and customer service went into your character and took that gold back and gave it to the buyer ?

if that is the case, and out of responce to that happening you un-subbed ? and find the customer service at fault ?

Did you even read the post?

you can clearly see my comment is filled with question marks.
as i was asking the thread starter to make some clarity because i did not understand what he was saying.
    so i asked.

Sorry, but you did not understand what happened at all.

Support is telling me I listed an item in one guild store (I am a member of 3 trading guilds) and the listing fee was 500k. Listing fee and item price is not the same.

As some people said in the previous posts, to get a listing fee of 500k you need to list an item for 50milion gold. I don't think there is any item worth that much in the whole game to start with.

I was not given any gold, I don't know where you read that. Just the opposite, 500k gone from my account. You say customer service took the gold back (which gold?).

English is not my first language but I think everything was pretty clear in my post. Sorry you misunderstood.

How much would an item need to be priced to have a 500K listing cost?! There is a certain point at which they can assume you fumble-fingered when you were listing it and can help you out. I mean, we all muck up... the point of the game is to have fun, so why won't they just yank the item and refund your money to be nice?

    50 mill

    Yes, 50 milion gold.

I don't think there is a single item in this game that is worth that much.

I told them again, I did not see any item listed for 50 million gold (if they gave me more details, that'd be great, but they won't tell me which item was it and which guild store had it).

IMO it's pretty obvious it was either my mistake or their mistake (a bug?) but losing 500k in a listing fee is just plain stupid and they should know it's not legit.

For a item to have listening cost of 500k it must have been posted for 50M or even more and also the list should still be there

Yeah, that's the thing. I have checked all my 3 trading guilds and I have no item listed for 50 mil.

The only thing I can think of is that I wanted to list something for 5k and I used more zeros, but still, the item should be there.

I even contacted the guild masters but they all told me the listing fee does not go to their bank, it's money that just poof! disappears.

Only Zos can help in this situation and judging for the last email I received they will not help me at all.

Did you check the 3 guild stores. Do you currently have an item for sale for 50m? :) If customer support were correct that item should still in one of the guild stores, no?

I lost 500k gold last week, when I sold a sharp red mountain 1 hand sword for 40k ouch!

At least I never had it to begin with lol

    Haha damn sorry about that.

Yeah, what really makes me mad is that I don't really "buy cheap sell expensive", I just quest, farm mats, run dungeons etc etc so recovering 500k will take me ages.

@GaldorP Yeah I did check them all when I received that email from support. There is nothing listed for 50 mil. Hell, my highest item is not even 20k xD I just farm mats, quest, and sometimes I get lucky with a nice drop from a dungeon, but (sadly) I never see big numbers  This is why 500k is just out of the place.

I contacted the guilds too but listing fees don't get to their bank so it's lost.

After reading all these posts, what I can only imagine is that it was either my typo or their bug, and since I cancel the listed items quite often (since prices vary so much everyday!) I just did not even realise (which is weird).

I will keep contacting support but I have the feeling I will have to settle with the small bosmer home xD (I was actually saving for a nice bosmer house).

Anyways, thank you everyone who posted here and tried to help, but at this point only Zos can. I was really angry when I posted this, but now almost a week passed and I just assumed the gold is gone. Of course I will keep trying to recover it but I won't post anything else here (unless I recover the money which is unlikely)

Give 'em hell, that's no actual response. There's no reason to give their support a moment's rest because they give you such a poor excuse for why the money is missing. Run it into the wall til you get someone with good work ethic to respond ^^
If you quote someone, and intend for them to see what you have said, be sure to Mention them with @[insert name].

Yup, that's why I won't stop emailing them until they give me any solution.

I don't know if you read the previous posts but I too work in customer service and if I "give them hell" I promise I will only get hell back xD

I am just being 100% honest with them and I assume that at some point they will give me a better "ending" to this nonsense.

If you listed something for 50 million and then removed the listing, it would no longer be listed(thus not found in your traders) and you would still have lost the listing fee.

I'm not saying that's what happened, as only 2 entities should know for sure what happened. I'm just saying how it could have happened while not being able to find the listing now.

But then the item would have been returned in the mail, after canceling a 50,000,000 listing.

Wait, how high is the highest price you can put on an item? I thought it was lower than 5mill.

I wouldn't just let them tell you no they can't do something. Seems to me that whomever responded to your issue is just being lazy and not wanting to do anything and coming up with excuses.

Write them back and inform them that you want this issue escalated.

There is no way that you listed an item in a guild store that cost you 500k without you noticing it, or the 50mill gold item still being in the guild store, because there insn't any one who is ever going to pay that much for something in this game.

So, definitely don't take what they are telling you as gospel. Go into the history of your guild stores (everyone in the guild can see it), and take screenshots of what you have listed there.

Rationally, if you have a 50mill item in there, it would still be there, and it doesn't cost 500k gold to list something in a guild store. 5k maybe. but not 500k, and that is perhaps where I am thinking the CS person is thinking you meant 5k instead of 500k, and they are misunderstanding.
Far too many characters to list any more.
