It is fun if the game works properlyF2P_savior_of_ESO wrote: »Why can't MMORPG's just be easy and fun? Not easy in a gameplay sense but easy in a "just let them loose in the world to do what they want" kind of sense.
This game took ♥♥♥♥ing forever to get past the tutorial which honestly I absolutely hated, and then it plopped me down in a place I don't care about and never told me how to leave,
just that I should take a side in this boring plot line that I had no reason to be invested in.
Okay great, an unlikable character is stuck in coldharbor with Molag Bol and I gotta stop him from doing something with an anchor... What does that have to do with the war? Do I really have to join a side and do chores for them to progress?
WHY IS THERE SO MUCH BUSY WORK?!

I have to somewhat agree, but maybe I'm just a slow learner. I have played heavily since launch. CP 620, Crafter with literally every trait and style, a couple million in the bank, 4 main characters, blah blah blah. I've play PvP, PvE, thieving, farming, and just random roaming around. I even got so bored a couple of times that I went hunting squirrels just to see how much small game I could acquire.
And now, the game feels more boring that ever. Every time I launch the game out of habit, I feel like I'm looking in the fridge for the seventh time in 20 minutes, expecting there to be something new when I know there is not. The game feels like nothing but a grind because...well, it is. There is nothing truly creative (like recipes or spells or clothing styles, etc.) because it would either 1) present a mechanic that could be exploited/abused, or 2) would take away from the items being sold in the Crown Store.
The game is certainly more interesting when playing with friends (hence the MMO), but then it's really about being with friends and not the game itself. So perhaps the OP should find a guild or group of people to play with, although that can be tough sometimes, especially when you don't want to play with racist, xenophobic, misogynistic, man-babies.
Or as some have said here, the game really might not be for you. Whatever you do, don't subscribe if you don't like it. You would just be adding fuel to the fire.
Grinding in an MMO? No way. JK. Yes it gets repetitive, but you have options to deal with that. I run trials with my guilds and often do dungeons in the gf, which I sometime regret. With crafting being left behind I can feel the pain there.
As for the OP, his point is invalid. He didn't run all the content, he can have any opnion he wants. But to just come on the forums of a game that you just started to complain that it's no fun, we'll IMHO, that would be a premature statement. Or perhaps just trolling. Why put in the effort to come here and complain?
Now I'm not some hardcore MMO player, a few but not like this. I find this game to have enough content to last quite a while. I personally have never seen a game with the amount of dlc and events they push out as fast as they do. The game has issues, but from my perspective it's not enough to make me quit.

Good point. I'm complaining that a game has become boring after playing it for over 3000 hours.
I guess when you really like something, you want it to last forever.
This reminds me of my wife. She skips every dialogue and help window, yet somehow it's always the game's fault when she gets lost or confused.
Well, as long as you are working to better yourself, you will find that over time you are getting stronger. You will take down mobs that you couldn't before. You will approach situations with ease that you once faced with apprehension. There is a lot more to being successful than just stat scaling that takes place at lower levels. It's awesome but Im sure in 2 months I'll get bored because I'm a casual player and the scaling system denies me the feeling of ever getting stronger.
Also "research" is a painfully annoying concept I hope never occurs in any other games.
I advice playing a few months the good old Everquest or some other good old hardcore MMOs.
I think this can be closed, OP was only here on free weekend anyways.
