When running S&B is there any difference between the types of 1h weapons?

When using one hand and shield, is there any difference (speed, range, damage, etc) between my 1 handed weapon choices or is it only aesthetic?

✭✭✭✭✭Just for that one passive for DW, S+B is that classed as Duel Wielding ?- Each axe gives your melee attacks a 8% chance to bleed enemies for [x] Physical Damage over 6 seconds.
- Each mace causes your attacks to ignore 10% of an enemy's Physical Resistance.
- Each sword increases your damage done by 2.5%.
- Each dagger increases your Weapon Critical rating. (by 5%)

✭There's no difference between a sword, mace, axe or dagger when youre using a shield in the second slot. One handed and shield doesn't have any passives for it.Edited by Valencer on November 30, 2016 2:47PM1 -

✭✭Nope. This is where you can save some money by not spending the extra gold on overpriced swords. Only dual wield and 2h receive the benefits.1 -

Phew, so my Heavy Armored Magicka Nightblade wearing 3 Spinners, a Spinner's Shield and a Sharpened Spinner's Mace is safe then

No. These are two entirely different skill lines. If you equip two one-handed weapons you get access to the skills in that skill line, but not skills in the one-hand and shield skill line and vice versa.
Despite this, and while you can save money by getting maces, axes or daggers, I still recommend going for the swords. As of now dual wield swords are more powerful for magicka DDs, and having your weapons gold does matter in terms of damage output. So I wouldn't bother golding a mace, axe, or dagger.
