How is PvP?

    PVP does have issues.
But I still enjoy it. And I log on to play almost nightly.

Positives: It's fun if you're in a 4-6 man group with a decent group comp. 1 healer, 1 negate slave etc. It's probably also pretty fun if you're running the StamNB gank build -- I hate playing StamNB, so I can't be certain. It's definitely pretty fun if you're a Magplar/Blade/Sorc and you're bombing groups with destro ult getting 4-6k spikes of AP. It's also pretty fun if you're running a proc build and 1vXing, although it's not really 'X' anymore -- more like 1v2/3/4.

Negatives: It's not very fun if you're 'Playing the way you want' and not following the meta-classes & builds. For instance, I tried solo 2h/Bow Medium StamDK and almost uninstalled the game. Everyone also has too much health, and everyone is way too tanky. Healing is absolutely out of control, the main build I play with has 86.3% increased healing -- you shouldn't be able to get over 10% imo. It's also not very fun if you're the group who's being bombed by the God Destro Ult -- it's by far the most broken thing in the game -- infinitely more abusive than proc sets. Speaking of proc sets -- if you're not running a proper build, you're going to be melted by them. Low CP/Under-geared/Incorrectly-geared players beware.

Bonus: If you're a returning player who's looking to start a new char, I would go with Magplar -- they're basically the best thing ever invented.

PvP is 1h&s and one ranged option, in many cases.

    Need tumorscale/infernal guardian/grothdarr/velidreth

    also viper

2nd set is up to you. Some use heavy rose, some use flanking, mostly NBs, saw few senches, et hunts.
Bombers usually have VD in their builds, alchemist, some even julianos.

PvP is not in its best state ever, but some campaigns are mostly locked, so I guess ppl still love it, despite some justified whining.

Did some PvP for the first time last night.
Running and sneaking to keeps as I actually just want the War Horn for my Healer and not to actually kill anyone. (I know, I know!)

One of my fellow EP players saw me sneaking and said
    "Stop playing like that"
    Followed by
    "Takes 0 skill".

(I instantly became a better PvP player, killed everything around me and thanked him from the depths of my argonian heart for his amazing advice!)

In truth, when I told him it was my 1st time and politely asked if he had any tips, he didn't even reply.

His wisdom must have been too great.

If you want to PvP without killing ppl, I suggest making a tankiest tank of all tank without any offensive proc set, just pure defense. S&B at least one bar, other might be resto staff. That way you won't be able to kill but somewhat survive and heal.
And ppl will love to have you around, healing them.

About tips. Its great to be in great battles, but best ones are in keeps. If you defend or attack and manage to save or flip the keep, AP ticks can be crazy.

Don't go alone since number of gankers waiting to proc you is amazing.
Use rapid maneuver to stay with your zerg... I mean, group.
type lfg until someone takes pity on you and invite you in group.
It is very nice to bring few siege weapons with you, even if you are healer. Just deploy them and let others use them, while you keep them alive.
If protecting keep, oils are magnificent thing to have.
Sometimes it is better to retreat and be able to revive your alliance players than to die with rest. But beware, gankers love to lurk near corpses.
Molag Bal gave you eyes and ears for a reason, be aware of what is happening.
Be ready to break cc at any point.
Get used to dying, don't flip table when you are ganked or zerged down. It's normal.
About sets, I see healers bring all kind of stuff in PvP. Since I never ever healed in PvP I won't say what is best to equip.
Also, if you see massive enemy movements tell that to your group if they are not aware. Feel free to use zone chat, but know that there are filthy spies everywhere.
    Good luck.

PvP is playable during non prime time hours but during Prime time when all factions are cap locked forget it especially around keeps and in large battles where a lot of players are congregated fighting or in zerg's. Lag, low fps, game freeze, crashes to desktop, long que times etc, etc.

Like I have said in other posts, pvp can be great fun or hair pulling madness, the meta of the proc'ers make some of pvp laughable when you see a pain train, I guess now known as a proctrain running, still a good amount of broken and exploitable mechanics in the game to down right cheating going on, but even with all that get a couple of friends to run with and support the faction efforts in keep takes and defense there is still much fun to be had. :)

This is a large scale pvp environment. To be honest pvp is in pretty bad shape knowing that you just make the best of a bad situation, and you can still have fun. Fun is the only reason I pvp or play a game in the first place.

Don't expect zos to do much and you will not be disappointed.

I've played PvP off and on since launch; I've always enjoyed it and the additions of the Imperial City, Town Control (ie. Vlastrus etc.) and other changes have made it better. However with all the tinkering that goes on with PvP and on-going changes to the game there have been complaints; although I have none at the moment.

I'm playing in oceana time slot and I've been really enjoying it of late.

Pops have dropped significantly, but that just means more small scale and less lag.

Proc sets are kinda *** but there's always some cancer in every patch.

These days I just embrace the *** show and enjoy myself.

Well, I detest, abhor, and despise PVP. Like, all the time, in any game.

I *especially* hate it when you *must* PVP to get your hands on something in the game. In this case, if I want to get more skyshards, I have to go deal with a bunch of [insert string of offensive obscenities] to get them.

So, in my opinion (and oh gods it is [offensive word] ridiculous that I even have to disclaim it as imo), PVP in this game sucks.

PVP in this game is fun. Like really fun. However, like any online game, the meta shifts regularly. Unfortunately, we are currently experiencing what many people believe to be one of the worst PVP metas in the game's history. However, the basis of combat in this game that makes it so much fun is still there, and with ZOS planning on doing a lot of balance changes with the next update, hopefully we'll see a new meta that actually does this combat system justice. With decent balance, this might be one of the most fun PVP MMOs out there thanks to such a dynamic combat system, but poor balance can be enough to take the fun out of any game.
