My first RPG was 'Maxis" The Sims. It was the game of all games that got me hooked. I stopped playing the Sims with Sims 4 because it was a complete regression on previous Sims games - as far as character development was concerned.

I am not too bothered about RP in MMOs but I do wear costumes. I do that mainly to conceal the hotch-potch of styles of my Legendary armour. I do not like wasting gold mats. Once in costume, I try to live up to the epitome of that character but the costme does not rule the game.

I liked a lot of Housing features in Skyrim's Heathfire DLC and would dearly love to buy a plot of land in Tamriel and do a self build. I do not expect the diversity of building options to be anywhere near as extensive as the Sims.

In my view, there is no point in having a beautiful home if one does not spend any time there and its sole purpose is only to exhibit trophies and to store away surplus junk. A lock-up garage or shed would suit that purpose just fine, so long as it was burgle-proof and kept the Hews Bane Elite out.

It would be nice to have a home into which friends could come and one was able to offer them a degree of hospitality. After a long day of questing some food and drink would be welcome, a place to sit down, perhaps Tamriel's equivalent of Croquet or Tennis on the lawn, and a few other befitting creature comforts to enjoy.

I hate immersion, I play RPGs for the grinding.

Roleplaying my character and interacting with other people, the environment and the setting in a particular way are some of the reasons why I play this game and why I enjoy it so much. Their looks and appearance are incredibly important, but their behaviour, their mannerisms and their habits are what makes them different or stand out. I create them on paper beforehand as this really helps me to set out some formal and informal plans, aspirations and restrictions that I want to achieve. For example, my Breton dislikes killing animals and so I try to avoid them where possible, keeping a fair distance from wolves or bears (NB: wish we had a 'pacify' spell or something similar). He is also weak and sickly and so has to ingest potions and elixirs to help his ailments. Needless to say, he spends a fair bit of time searching for herbs and alchemical ingredients for this purpose. In my humble opinion, a game that focuses on attention to detail, has a variety of choice and opportunities to engage with the world around us can certainly help to make that place more interesting for roleplay.

As for housing, my characters prefer to wander across Tamriel and one of them in particular prefers a simple, humble life outdoors. I'd have loved to see a tent or makeshift camp that I could use... and interact with, of course.

Rpg immersion in single player games is fun, for mmos imo not so much lol.

RPG in this game is the worst I've seen in ages. They make the garbage that was DA inquisition look impressive. I don't even get dialogue choices or options. Just doing what I am told. My toons are all just instruments of battle. Nothing more.

Role playing and immersion do not go hand in hand, so the answers are flawed.

For example, I never ever role play. Never have.

That said, I much prefer RPGs that are as "living" and "believable" as possible, including believable and animated characters, intractable furniture and the ability to fully customise my character's appearance to look exactly how I'd like it to - none of which we really have in ESO currently.

I would like it to be as much as possible but I can live without the ability to pick up every fork in an MMO, in a single player game like Skyrim I am a bit more picky.
