• PC/Mac: No maintenance – April 6

PUGS omg. I miss the days when excessive AFK was the only headache.

A pug run to me, feels like a roadtrip were you pick up 3 strangers on the way, one dude smells bad, one dude has to stop for a bathroom every 30min. and the other dude only got in the car because he was bored and doesn't even care where you going.

Yet you welcomed them into the car - did they appear to be bikini models before you let them in?

Why are we focusing our frustrations at players and not at ZOS. There are some dungeons that are just NOT pug friendly in any way.

Namely the DLC ones, COH2, COA2, EH2. Even normal mode DLC is rough for pugs. By allowing new and non-fully geared players to queue for these dungeons, ZOS has exposed the community to resentment, anger, accusations of elitism etc.

It forces the experienced player to make the choice of kicking the CP90 double bow build in the group, just because you only have a few hours to play, or being nice and having a terrible 4 hour run while trying to explain to someone why they can't play the way they want in a game that advertises you can play the way you want.
    • Is it fair? No
    • Is it any guarantee that a higher CP pug that's next in queue will perform better? Hell no.
    • It's just a bad situation that pits player against player.

I've had to kick people before and have gotten plenty of hate tells for it but honestly what am I supposed to do? Do I really have to explain to someone that they probably cant do what they just queued for? Why do I have to explain to players how brutal and unforgiving the game can be to new and "play how you want" types. That's ZOS's job, not mine.

No one used too complain about PUGs because it took 2 years for ZOS to get the group finder too work. Tbh I would rather deal with the occasional tank with no taunt and have a working group finder. Talk about first world problems...

Pugs are for the rare person is accostomed to contestant dissappointment but always open to ability of people to be impressive.

Good pugs are the rare gift that make life sweeter and reminds you that for all you know you to can still be wrong.

Agree with most comments here, you are the one that should probably avoid group finder.

Being in a PUG is like catching a bus: not everyone on board will be your ideal travel companion but you all have one thing in common, wanting to reach your destinations. Relax, give people a go and you might actually have fun and possibly make friends.

    So true.
I know "naming and shaming" ain't allowed in here. But "naming and admiring"...?

Anyway, for what it's worth... guildies of mine the other day pugged a vet dungeon. They're truly good (excellent tank, 2x over 30K DPS). Missing a healer, resorted to grouping tool.
They were on TeamSpeak, like... "where does THAT guy come from ? The Mars planet ????? "
    I asked : "What's his name" ? They said " @Walking " ...

For those who are not on PC/EU ... Walking is some sort of Übermensch-Healer... you simply wonder how he does it.

TL/DR : while Pugging you have to expect the worst. But you may also get the very best.

    Healing so easy tho?

I understand hype for a 40k + single target DPS in a pug.

I won't debate whether healing is easy or not, but what excellent healers like Walking do goes far beyond healing. They heal you in places where most healers would say you're out of range, they're never oom, they never die, they rezz, they buff and shield in every possible manner, and I wouldn't be surprised if they contributed significantly to direct damage dealing, too. That is NOT easy.

I'm not. We used to be in the same trading guild for a while and in the morning, he usually pugged via trading guild for dailies (Grouping tool wasn't working at all back then).
