If its says 'instant' in its tooltip it will be direct damage, if it as a cast time to fully use or 'channel' it is classed as a DOT.

Many players have done testing on this and Flurry and both its morphs are a 'channel' ability they require a cast time to fully cast, and also count as a DOT, it also benefits from Thaumaturge in the champion points system.

Its the same has Templars 'Jabs' also classed as a DOT

So, you could have 2 champion point nodes to boost flurry damage? Mighty and Thaumaturge?

No, Rapid Strikes is considered a Damage over Time effect, or DoT. It will not have a chance to proc Nerien'eth other than the first tick of each cast (all DoT's do this).

And yes, Flurry will be affected by both Mighty and Thaumaturge.
