Hi Theorycrafters, I need your HELP!

I am just getting back to ESO after awhile away and it is wonderful to be back in the best game and community IMO.

I am looking to build a 1h/Shield Leather wearing DK but Temp would be ok as well, I am overwhelmed easy and seem to be overthinking this and could really use some advice from the Builders out there to help me come up with something that work work.

P.S I would also like to be Breton...

I put this in Player Guides as well but that may not be the right Forum.

Thanks again,
Toasty :)

The first thing any theorycrafter will tell you is that Breton is a bad choice for any stamina build.

This ^ . As Breton you want a Majic build which could still be done successfully with DK one hand and shield . You could work a heavy armor or a light armor depending if tank or DD . But if you want leather stamina build , Redguard will shine more . Orc possibly or maybe even Wood elf . Bottom line is for min / max Breton and stamina don't mix . If you're not worried about max numbers then Breton stamina DK would do ok for the max Majika , just not increase the damage from a stam set up .

And the first thing I would tell you is don't listen to the theorycrafters. ;)

It's not that they're wrong, per se. It's just that on the whole they tend to put things in a min/max perspective, giving the impression that nothing else will work. Which is wrong.

The thing is, Breton works fine for stamina builds, but their passives are basically all magicka oriented. So you could think of it more like shoring up a weakness or something. You're just not going to get on any min/maxer's nice list. Just keep that in mind.

Thank you guys for all the advice, this gives me some thoughts in working on a build. I am one who really does not want alot of flash i,e Class skills, I want to put most of my stats in Weapon/Shield/Armor ect.... a true non magic type user.

    Cheers,
    Billy

    ^^^^^ Adding on to this:

    For the item sets:
    http://elderscrollsonline.wiki.fextralife.com/Sets

    For the abilities:
    http://www.eso-skillfactory.com/en/build-planer/

    For the simulator:
    http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Special:EsoBuildEditor

For the abilities to use with a specific build... No link, but then again its heavily dependent on what you want to do. As you get more comfortable with everything, you will begin to understand which abilities are absolutely compulsory and which ones can be interchanged. Do some research on the good PvE and PvP players on youtube and try to figure out what abilities they use, etc. You will begin to notice patterns and then before you know it you'll be making your own builds!

    Have fun!

Are you trying to tank or dps? Use heavy if tanking, use pretty much anything but sword and shield if dps.
