I really thought one tam would fix the group finder on xbox

For the first year it was completely broken, would take 45 min to never to find a group. It started to get better, you could actually find a group quickly. My tank usually finds a group with 30 seconds looking for dailies, switch to my dps and its a 30 min wait so far.

Is the game 95% dps players? I had 2 hours to play before work and half that time was spent waiting. Either the matchmaking sucks or the population is horribly imbalanced.

The pop is unbalanced. You said yourself you only wait 30secs as a tank.

I use the grouping tool for all three roles on PC. In general I can expect the queue to pop almost instantly if I'm tanking, it will take 1-5 minutes if I'm healing, but I resign myself to a long wait if I'm queuing as DPS.

So yes, I do believe the is an overwhelming number of people who queue as DPS only. For this reason I usually try to have two loadouts on every DPS character so that I can queue as tank/DPS or heals/DPS and not have to wait forever.

If you want fast groups as a DPS your best bet is to join a PvE guild.

It's the same on PC. I'm actually considering respeccing my DPS as a tank just to find groups more easily. I hate to bug my guilds to farm specific dungeons (though I am running daily Undaunted pledges with them now). I love playing dps, but it's a pain to find groups when everyone wants a tank or healer.

I spent over an hour in group finder the other night for a specific dungeon. Finally just gave up. Going to take a long time to get the set I'm wanting at this rate.

Ask yourself, would you rather solo as DPS or tank?

OP, you answered your own question. Tanks/healers are very few and far between where as dps, well dps is the most common.

Nothing is broken... unless you consider what people choose to play as broken.

I think there is more dps then anything and it causes issues.

I also think the finder breaks sometimes. For example as a dps i had a wait of over an hour and a half. I had been waiting so long I drop and requeue and instantly get a dungeon. Both times i queued specifically for the 2nondlc pledges.

I get it im dps i can wait for a long time. But also look at the second half of my story. I requeued and got an instant pop. For that to happen the tank/healer or both we were missing queued in the 5 seconds i was out of the finder. Fine just dumb luck. But add on i instantly popped so there was no other dps in the queue... so over an hour and a half of no tank/healer followed by no dps.

I suppose in theory there could have been bunches of dps in the queue and it just so happened that 10 tanks and healers all queued in the 5 seconds i was out, so even though i was at the back of a long line of dps it got to me...

Im not buying it. Something is wrong sometimes.

Not sure if it's the role.

I play dps a lot lately and have never waited over 5-10 minutes but most pop within 3 minutes as dps only

    One is a CP 500+
    One is a level 14...now 18
    One is a level 10

Healer and tank are about the same times as well on Xbox one NA usually after 6pm eat and today after 1pm but often 6pm eat - 9pm eat Monday - Friday is an average of 5-10 mins.
Are you doing random and do you own all dlc?

There are definitely a lot more DPS than tanks and healers. You can even see in the expected wait time when you hover over the roles. Most of the time for tanks it says "<1minute". For DPS I often see it say "<59minutes". So its definitely a population thing.

When I do the daily pledges, the longest time I have waited for a group was probably about a minute. But usually I am in a group before I can even exit out of the menu. lol

Yeah, I think the people complaining about the group finder are dps because as a tank I think the activity finder is a great feature. As has already been said you can often find a group before you even close the menu as a tank.
