Game finally updated , I noticed their is FPS slow down in busy areas,is that the norm ?

I am a returning player......so it was not unusual for me to notice slow down in busy player areas , but is this still the norm in general ? it sure does hit the FPS , I have a fairly decent system , 4670k OC , 1060 6gb SC graphics , 16 GB ram , game running on SSD drive , 1080 res.

Yes. I run an i7 5820k at 4.5 GHz, a gtx 1070, 16 GB RAM at 3000 MHz, and a 1 tb Samsung 850 evo on Asus x99 sabertooth mobo on 1080p. In big cities I drop to below 25 fps pretty frequently. Sometimes even out in the world away from cities. No idea why, but yes, it's common at least for me on pretty nice hardware.

When you are in an area with dozens and dozens of other players around you, the game is going to lag regardless of your system specs. You could be playing ESO on the mainframe at NORAD or the Pentagon and you'd still get lag spikes in Mournhold.

Yep. Its the norm in pretty much every modern graphics game or online environment. Always has been, and barring a somewhat quantum leap in tech it probably always will be.

Yes but the question is why. I do not get this slowdown from 60fps to <25fps in big cities in WoW, it is specific to this and some other poorly coded games. Additionally, it is not always only in big cities, it also sometimes happens out in the wilderness with few, if any, other players nearby.

That means it isn't my specs or my internet provider. There is nothing to blame on my end, or that of the other posters above who also have very good hardware. This is a problem with the game.

I have no doubt this is true. It should be fixed. As a newer player I am really enjoying the game. I am constantly being surprised and have many occasions to admire the sheer scale and amount of effort that was obviously put into making it... BUT this issue of constantly fluctuating framerates absolutely is a huge negative against it for me.

Yep. Lots of people to begin with, plus multiple clowns dueling next to crafting tables/undaunted quest givers makes the game sluggish.

One cannot compare anything about WoW to ESO. WoW is so old and built to be played on potatoes. Most half decent gaming PCs could play WoW off the CPU, no GPU.

The graphics are quality and ESO's much better. That's why you get an increased load in ESO in bust areas yet have no affect in WoW.

Oh yeah ESO is so different and so awesome and so wholesome and so immersive and... well i forgot the rest but the code of any game should be written by professionals not by interns.
