Suggestion: Eye of the Storm

Here is a suggestion for the destro ultimate Eye of the Storm,
Currently there is no real counter to this skill,
if this ulti would be a channneled ability people could interrupt it,
look at the ulti soul assault, the damage per tick is really high, and it should, but still people can counter it by interrupting.
Destro ulti has also really high damage per tick, so the user should not be able to do more skills like spamming impuls, sap essence or streaking and stuff like that.
When ppl group up and use that ulti in pvp it is still really effective, but when it's channeled we can still counter it by interrupting.

You might have missed the memo - soulassault is no longer interruptable since one tamriel launched. It also got it´s dmg buffed.

Easy fix: lower the damage to a similar lvl as Swarm. Done

Yeah, there you go.

Someone running crushing shock cancels an ultimate costing 250 points from across the battlefield. And it's channeled so you can't use other skills while it's running and dodgerolling or blocking cancels it.

I've seen nerf threads, but your nerf thread puts theirs to shame.

Ummm how about not. I like my ultimate just how it is. You say if 3 or 4 people use this on you at once is no counter. Negate? Run?

Kinda hard to target with crushing shock when ppl use it in zergball

it would be still very effective because most people still die in a sec

Getting zerged down with multiple of any ultimate will melt you, can you survive 3 incaps? 3 soulstrikes? 3 take flights? 3 dbos?

Alot of builds in heavy could survive 3 in caps,take flights, or dbos. On a medium build i can dodgeroll them. Souls trike is broken in its own way. The ticks are too high. Every single ultimate in the game can be blocked and healed through on a heavy build, but without the user doing anything else he could kill you off pure Destro ticks

3 Soulassault --- > Line of Sight
3 Take Flight ---> Block
3 Dawnbreaker ---> Block + vigor + rally
3 Eye of the Storm ---> ehm Block? You can't
--> Rally + Vigor 3.5hot vs 12k dot good luck
--> Line of Sight --> good luck

I agree this ultimate seems have no conter. The best conter might be stuning the enemy to get 1-2 seconds out of range.

But yea... lets be honest buff vigor and rally heal please.

If your a stam build you still have options. I've survived EoTS. It just requires going on the defensive instead of always being on the offence. Use stuns and CC's (every class has one). I'm not going to explain the healing part cause if you play stam you should have figured out that combo by now. Above all...RUN!

This skill is meant to give Magicka builds some breathing room when stam builds get up and close. I admit, EoTS has too large of an area of effect. If you don't use your CC'S fast enough and get out you may end up dead but that's the timing part.

The only change I would agree to EoTS AOE size, not the blocking, interrupt or damage components, they serve their purpose.

eye of the storm was a good addition. magicka users needed better options for bursty AOE ults. It's easy too avoid and doesn't last long, so IMO it's pretty balanced. It's really expensive so if the user fails to apply it properly it becomes a big setback. 3 people in a zerg using it at the same time killing you, well you were probably going to die anyway. There are many abilities that when used at the same time in a small space can wipe out many people, this isn't anything new. Honestly I'm really surprised I don't see a buttload of smalls groups comprised of magic nbs and sorcs all with vicious death using proxy det and eye of the storm bombing zergs all day long. I still see more snipe spammers lol.

If you want to interrupt it and thus make it so all that ultimate would be wasted, then the cost needs to be heavily reduced accordingly.

Soul assault is blockable, why can't EotS be blockable? Just that morph because the other morph can be walked out of.

Simple fix.

Revert EotS to the old damage model (half damage, double duration of what is now. its the pre-buff damage model)
Let Elemental Rage keep the buffed damage model

Now you have 2 morphs that are good:

-Elemental Rage is super strong but can be avoided.
-EotS has insane group play and is still very good at putting on pressure PBAOE style if full duration is used. (Not hard with gap closer spam). Double duration is very good. In most situations for group play, its over kill so you could probably get more done with this pre-buff version. Each destro staffs effect is better with the longer duration in my opinion.

No that's the counter for the rage morph. EotS follows you, it needs to be blockable like soul assault, or do the same damage over more time.

Negate is the only counter . So stam Sorc has a counter vs Magic Sorc .

Blade cloak (20% AOE Damage Reduction)
Leki's (25% AOE Damage reduction)
Vampire Cloak (minor protection 8% reduction)
Champion points to counter DOTS
Champion points to counter magic damage
Stun
Snare
Move

Nightblades

Teleport
Viel of Blades

Sorcs

Streak
Negate

Dragon Knights

Corrosive
Dragon Leap (if you have a target you can leap to, plus the morph with the shield)
Standard of Might (damage reduction)

Templars

Spear Ultimate (the one that gives a shield)
Healing Ulmtinate

Shield Wall Ultimate

Scatter shot and morphs (knockback and stun)

Invisible Bats or Healing Bats

Fighter Guild runs that gives minor protection and reduces cost of roll dodge

Anyone of the above can help deal with ETOS, any combination can make it easily manageable.
