Toggle between current and lower tier resource harvesting

One of the fashion victimizations caused by One Tamriel, is that short of making a dozen alts dedicated to this purpose, there is no way for the more progressed players to harvest lower level mats. Not too big of an issue for yer stat-chasers, but it rules out crafting the lower tiers of equipment. Not too dandy, if ya ask me.

As it stands, there is a 50/50 chance of either getting a material resource tier in line with your level, and getting a resource tier in line with your relevant crafting level. That's not too shabby, but it doesn't go far enough. We ought to be able to toggle which material tiers we want to find as well.

So if I have a 50/50 chance to find voidsteel or iron (CP 160, Blacksmithing 1), I'd be able to choose if I want to find, say, orichalcum instead of voidsteel, dwarven instead of voidsteel, etc. etc. Or just 100% chance for iron (lowest denominator).

I mean, come on. Sure, iron armour is utterly useless once you reach level 20 tops, but I still want to slink around in that smexy grey gear.

i asume your interest in wearing underleveled gear is for RP purposes, solutions

buy the materials from guild stores
dedicate 1 alt that exists for gathering resources & stockpile at least 200 (more if you have craft bag) of each type of resource before increasing their crafting level (if you need more in the future you can always re-distribute skill points)
Hire a new player (or someone playing on an alt) to supply your materials im sure they would happily give you a bunch of materials in exchange for a crafted set of armour

Alts are bad and awful. Having another character is fine, but having one for the sole purpose of gaming the system? Nah that's ***.

RP purposes is one. Wee gaps in the market is another. And yet another is to be able to sell and craft gear for lower levels. Allowing our characters to cater to more than just the same tier of players is good.

I have a toon that's a master crafter. I find it difficult to wrap my head around the idea that a toon needs to be locked to a set tier of materials. As a master crafter, I would think that he should be able to select and farm *any* level materials as desired.

I've said this in other threads: this is the only game I've played where your toon actually gets worse at crafting as you're leveling it up. Higher-end research takes longer (a blatant time sink - I'm in the middle of yet another 20+ day research cycle) and he's limited as far as the materials that can be farmed.

I wonder if ZOS could make the resource spawn points 50/50? So 50% chance being levelled, and 50% zone specific (by pre-One Tamriel standards). Maybe 25/75 in favour of levelled resources. Definitely seems like lack of lower tier mats could affect crafters and the market.
