PvE or PvP?

Good PvE options:
5x Burning Spellweave or Mother's Sorrow or Twice-born Star, with
2x Grothdarr or Skoria, with
4x Infallible Aether/Moondancer + 1x Inferno Maelstrom staff, OR 3x Aether/Moondancer + 2x Maelstrom staves

Do the monster sets really add alot of dps?

Wall, eruption, volitile, dampen magika(you would be suprised how often you use this) molten armernments Inferno staff bar

Burning embers, inferno, dampen magika, fiery breath, smoldering rune

Ult is shifting standard or meteor.

The lightning Heavy attack is amazing in all pve, dot up and heavy attack.

Is there another set up better?

I thought mdks had a buff to fire damage? Have you tested whether the fire staff heavy attacks hit harder for you than shock staff? As a sorc using elegance I can confirm it is great for overload, but it also works for you if you just weave light/medium attacks between every skill, something that's easier to do with a fire staff. With a vma staff and elegance, mobs that stand in my woe get hit by 11k minimum charge medium attacks (which is slightly more than a light attack) and that's from an ice staff (the only sharpened vma staff I have). Also elegance has decent 2/3/4 piece bonuses. So I'm a fan of elegance even without overload but I don't have a dk so take others advice first.

5 sun 5 spell weave 2 skoria with dual wield/restostick instead of destro staff works very well.

5 rattlecage/ 5 sun works pretty awesome

5 sun or spellweave/ 5 spinners would work good too

5 litch/ 5 sun or spellweave is super handy

for monster sets you can rock skoria, grothdarr, llambris, slimeclaw, maw or even the hated (espically by me) veledrith. Or infernal guardian (if you run a shield)

These all work in both PvP and PvE it's just a matter of the desired traits

5 spellweave, 2 grothdar.
Infallible aether/ moondancer jewellery and 2 sharpened vma staffs (front bar one with a spell damage glyph on can also use IA or moondancer staff front bar too)
Or
Willpower jewellery, any 2 non set sharpened fire staves.

Lightning staves are an option but tbh weaving Pulsar with a flame staff feels like more damage and inflicts minor mangle. Plus grothdar woe eruption fuery breath do a ton of aoe.

Frontbar
Fiery breath, inner light, trap beast, molten whip, burning embers, shooting star
Backbar
Eruption, Elemental blockade, 3 flex slots- pick from following depending on situation- pulsar, Elemental drain, molten armaments, flames of oblivion, burning talons, unrelenting grip, deep breath, harness magicka. Standard of might

Rotation-
Eruption - blockade - fiery breath - burning embers - rearming trap - whip x3 - blockade - fiery breath - burning embers - whip x4 repeat
When standard of might is ready drop it after casting Eruption - blockade
Medium/light weave everything.
If running ele drain yourself apply at start of rotation and after every 2

Thx for the tips. In pvp im rattlecage/grothdar/sun and know whats up. Just new to pve and TBS looks what i need.
