You should be oprionally allowed to be grouped with people who are around your level

I feel optionally, there should be a way where you can group with people who are 20+ or 20- CP from you, This may however cause more delays because of the filtering,

I'm not the best player and a CP 240 now and still am a little uncertain about leading and taking control. I don't enjoy it and it's not what I want to do. I was grouped 3 times in a row with people who were less than LEVEL 20.... I felt uncomfortable and awkward because I had no idea where to go and they just kept following and waiting near me because I was some 200 Cps more than them. We did eventually make it but I don't want to be put in that spot.

Granted I could have left, but I felt bad to abandon them. :c , It's just i'm not leader material and just a Dps/healer depending on whats needed.

Agreed, there needs to be some filters added to the grouping tool.

I don't like to lead often, but my main PVE'r is a tank so I end up doing it more than not. When put with new players, it's always kind of funny how I have to control most of the boss mechanics, revive and heal the others... If it is obvious they're new then I will explain the mechanics, especially on those mechanics that will insta kill a player.

    The Group Finder could use:

    - A lvl range as you stated, to find ppl with similar CP which could potentially lead to less kicks
    - A DLC checkbox option, for those who don't have access or the lvl required for those dungeons
    - Skill checks: to see if the tank actually has 1 of the 2 taunts on his bar, healer has healing spell and the DPSers have DPS skills (Currently we have certain skills that are categorized, so I take it this is in the works)

All I could think off from the top of my head

Normally haven't thought much about the skill check thing, but today having all my "Tank" roles be filled by DPS'ers today... I agree. I think there needs to be a penalty if someone queue's a role they are not fitted for.

I want an option to group only with people that are within 20 points of my IQ. That'd solve a lot of issues. IRL people would never call me "bruh"... a second time. In-game I can only mute them, not choke slam them through a windshield. :(

If you're a pc player I see no need for this. I understand the reasoning for console but a better solution for consoles would be a dps, hps, and threat meter. Cp isn't everything, players of lower Cp can have optimized gear, extensive knowledge of their class and the game.

i think that would make it harder and longer to find common players though. if there were to be a group tool- i think they should incentivise playing with noobs- like better rewards , RNG odds for the chest- or more xp.

Did three random dungeons on chars for the bonuses, EVERY time, got a DPS that had all three roles checked. Most of the time, "tank" is a 2h DerPS below level 20.

On another note: IMO, minimum level to queue for dungeons should be 15, that way you at least have weapon swap unlocked.

I can agree with this to an extent. I think if you allow people to select any CP level to search, a lot of CP561+ will select 561 only and it will cause more dungeon runs to end in failure for newer players. Since in veteran difficulty, certain dungeons can be very difficult especially without a high level player to carry or teach mechanics a bit.
Maybe an optional search in normal for "Lv1-50" and "Any" would be nice but CP is another story.
Perhaps the dungeon finder could do a check on a few things before creating a group, make sure 1-2 players have the achievements & above average gear quality perhaps? This way achievements would have a purpose and groups would be more likely to succeed on average. Because you can always get low CP players with experience and high CP without experience leading CP to be nearly meaningless.
I'm fairly sure a lot of us on the forums have experienced that CP500+ tank without a taunt, DD using only bow light attacks or healer without healing springs. :P

I would settle for the dungeon finder actually working on PS4. I que'd for the daily today and I gave up after an hour of waiting. Never mind trying to que for a random dungeon. Yes I'm in several guilds and yes I could have asked them to run them (which I did) but that's not the point. What's the point of having the activity finder there if it doesn't work? It's like when you walk up to a set of doors and one door has a sign that says "Please use other door" WHY IS THAT DOOR EVEN THERE THEN!?!?!?!?!

    I digress... forgive me.

I do agree that the grouping tool should try and keep the people within around 20-40 CP or at least have the option to select that. That may help to relieve some of the unfortunate groupings that we all encounter form time to time and are forced to endure or leave and pay the 15 min penalty. Or be forced to pay it from a unnecessary kick/disband/can't join group but making it so you can't do anything about it either

Bear in mind....they could be the persons 8th toons. I had someone a few weeks ago after I joined the random finder at level 20 something and they laughed at me and said "dance noob or we'll kick you" I said meet me at Ghratwood and duel me....shows up flawless stamsorc and reks him.

That's a bad attitude if I read it right. Put yourself in hard positions and win and you'll only come out better. How do you think half of us did wgt and icp back on the day with 120cp tops. We tried.. we didn't look at stats and compare ourselves to Internet hero's and back off.

Yeah and after an hour of waiting you end with lvl 36, cp120 dds and tank with 20k hp...

    — They always claim they’re “investigating” the causes, but in reality they’re just waiting until the PC EU players go to bed. Once that happens, you can suddenly log in again and they happily mark the issue as Fixed.

This is the reason why the group finder today works as it does now. Before Orsinium you had to be in 5-level range (for <50 players) or in Veteran to be grouped. This made for very, very long queue times, due to a vastly reduced pool size to choose from.
