CANNOT LOGIN USING CORRECT USERNAME AND PASSWORD

I have been having a problem after re-installing ESO onto a new computer of mine. I type in my username and password where i login to the game and it keeps telling me that either my username/ password is incorrect. I know that i have the right username and password because i can login online to this site, and have tried changing my password to make sure. Has anyone else had this problem and what did you do to correct it?? I would really like some help from the ESO admins.

The error reads as:

Login Failed. Your username and password may be incorrect or inactive at this time. If you purchased the game through steam, please start the game via the steam client to login.

**i didnt purchase the game through steam, and this is getting quite annoying id like to be able to login to play the game i love**

I've got the exact same problem, the login&password is correct however it wont let me login. I can however login to support&account website and such but not into the game, getting exact the same error message as the threadowner.

Any (what was the) solution?

Btw with a second created account i CAN login but not with this one. But i would like to use this account, so any help is appreciated

I can't log in on my PC but iPad I can I'm using the right username/email and password but no luck

Yeah im having the same issue. And support is dragging their feet on getting the problem fixed any help would be nice.

This seems to be happening again - and I cannot log in to file a ticket either - login fails in browser all the same. Why is this happening?
