I got them when it was 400,000 XP for each CP, with Enlightenment giving one every 100,000 XP. I think I passed 160 when I was Veteran Rank 10 or so. And I was given 70 for free to start with. Those were dark days.
from lvl1 to v16 (160CP) took me arround a year with no grinding. Just enjoying quests.
From lvl 50 to 160cp took as long as from lvl1 to lvl50 i believe, but it might be easier now.
Mine were back before there was any catch up mechanism, other than the points allocated for having Vet Ranks that were added in after the whole thing started. I don't remember if I had reached CP160 before the Vet Ranks were removed or not.
But I was around when CPs were first introduced, and I am at CP670 right now.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

How long did your first 160 cp take from level 50?
Took me about a week of casual play to get from cp10-cp160. It was almost too fast with the experience boost, as I did not have any chance to grab the mats between cp10-cp140, it was a really quick level up, but at the same time I was happy as any gear I got in that time I just deconstructed as it was out leveled too quickly, now that I am 160, I can keep the good stuff until they raise the level cap.
In my defense, I started out playing ESO like other TES games and was an altoholic. Then the day after version 1.5 dropped, I deleted ALL my characters, gave everything away in HUGE Glenumbra garage sale ... and started over at level 1 with nothing.
To this day, I don't know what I was thinking. But I hear some people level up to 160 in about 40 hours.

I actually got them right before the transition from VR to CP. I had two VR2-3 characters and simply farmed them. Something like 80 CP per. I was already well on my way with 70 or so CP when the announcement was made. So it didnt take too long or too much.
I don't even remember. Back when the system changed from Veteran Levels to Champion Levels, I was still a Vet 14 working my way to 16. When the change finally happened, I had already earned about 200 or so points. At that time I think I had been playing for half a year?
My first completed character took me roughly forever. I dawdled a lot. Listened to every single quest. Got lost. Crafted a bunch. Worked on so many alts. Deleted 75% of the alts I worked on. Started new alts. I now have 3 done characters, and 3 more that are done-ish (CP leveled, but still need to get more skyshards, lorebooks, and work on some skills a bit).

But VR1-14 ( then 16 ) I did in PVP Only back in yee old days of the Cellairis campaign and when *** was a big PvP guild, I would ask LFG and would always get invited by Shido and at the time most of then where all VR10+ and I was only VR1, they didn't mind but I worked my way up the ranks ended up joining the guild and meeting some great players, most I still speak to on Discord
In the early days of this game each vet rank took increasingly larger amounts of XP to move to the next level. I may have this a little wrong but as I recall going from V11 to V12 took about 5M XP. Then ZOS added 2 more vet levels but lowered the XP requirement to 1M XP per level, then after another update added 2 more vet levels getting us to V16 with each level requiring 700K XP (or something like that) and adding Champion Points in the process.
Then they eliminate vet ranks and champion points are the only leveling mechanism. This seems to me to be a bit of slight-of-hand because all that has really happened is that 16 vet levels have been replaced with 561 champion levels (and counting), which I find a bit funny actually.
So... I cannot answer your question as to the first 160CP, but it came to me slowly in comparison to what it is today. Now I can level an alt to level 50 in about 15 hours, after which it immediately goes to my account CP level of 680+CP and that is very convenient. My advice to the new players is to take your time and enjoy all three story lines. Play every quest and explore every zone. Play the game the way it was originally designed with the stories flowing across zones. If one is in too big a hurry to max out their CP they miss so much of the game. There is a lot more to this game then button-mashing.
This question is really flawed though because not everyone had it as easy as it is now. And even then some people only played in enlightenment(4xExp) while others played after it ran out.
My alt account got it how it is now. The only insight I could give from that account is that from a brand new 50 to 70cp was 2-3 hours of playing time. I believe I was 160 within a week or two, using only Ambrosia and training gear(no event bonus exp). This was pure grind and I wasn't grinding efficiently.
So you can get there pretty fast if you grind. Or you can play through the quests, have fun, and learn the mechanics as you do. CP isn't the be all end all people make it out to be

Longer then it would today, since I did them before they added the catchup mechanics. But I did take 2 CP per day on average, so... not that much of an issue, especially since one could do them spread over multiple characters and rake in the CP 'en passant' while getting them through cadwells...
And it was less of a hassle then going through the veteran ranks back when they were still costing more then doing a whole region gave you - all those days in cyrodil doing the town circuit...
I'm on console so had vr and cp from when I started playing. Tbh never paid that much attention to CP's before VR's were removed so can't say exactly but I know I just played one character at first, just questing, and she got to VR16 somewhere around the same time I finished gold
Well I can't remember but I'm pretty sure aprox. 2 months. I think it took me 3 weeks to level 50 and about another month up to V16. Not sure how many points I had at that point but prob. around 200 cp.
I grinded for some of my vet levels (at least the last 4 to get to V16) but I never grinded for cp. With the catch up mechanism you got now you earn them quick through normal playing.
Difficult one to answer, before VR16 hit the Game I had 5 VET toons none of which were max Vet Level, so when it hit and they did all the jiggery pokery I had 5 Vets VR16. although I obviously took me from launch to get to this state.
VR16 and 160 CP is a totally different deal. VR16 was originally 360 CP without inspiration. 160 CP is well just 160 CP. Also CP gains take a lot more XP in the higher levels. VR16 took around 5-8 times more XP. 160 CP actually meant V5 by the original calculations.
I don't know the exact time it took but i do remember reaching VR16 really felt like a great achievement, silly i guess but it did.
It was close to year i think lol
English is not my native language, no grammar police please, tyvm
I had 5 vet level toons before I had 1 vr16. I just could not decide at first and did not focus on just one. I know when they took vr ranks away I had 6 vet toons. Now my stam-sorc and my mag-plar each have more than 60 days played. .....Wow, more than 120 days of play time in this game. I need to get out more! Lol
From lvl 1 to cp 160 around two years with six month break.
From lvl 50 to cp 160 maybe month or two. I was around Rank 5 then they added cps and I was cp 160.
