Mag. Sorc Build Question

OK. So been playing for a few months now...at 300CP. I have a solid build down I think but I seem to constantly run into sustain issues. I have ideas on how to fix it, but I figured I would put the question out to the community.

PvE focused.

Race:High Elf
Class: Sorcerer
Gear: 5xJulianos, 3 willpower, 2x iLambrias, Sharpened Inferno(Legendary, Front bar), dual wield Torugs Pact swords on back bar (all armor is max magicka glyph, weapons with absorb health, restore magicka glyphs). Jewelry has spell damage glyphs

CP are allocated into Elemental Defender (100), 50/50 split between cost reduction and recovery, Elemental Expert 100.

Bar 1:
Crystal Frags, Elemental Blockade, Force Pulse, Hardened Ward (Flex Inner light if damage is minimal), Bound Aegis, Elemental Fire Utlimate (Destro)

Bar 2:
Power Surge, Liquid Lightning, Mages Wrath (Flex Boundless Storm for mobs), Harden Ward (Flex Inner Light/Elemental Drain..still figuring out this spot), Aegis, Overload

Overload Bar
Power Surge, LL, Dark Deal, Hardened Ward, Aegis, Overload

Rotation:
Power Surge, LA Weave, LL (Block Cancel), LA Weave, Bar Swap, Blockade( Block Cancel ), LA Weave, Pulse/Weave...Frags on Proc

Flex for Elemental Drain after Power Surge when it is slotted.

This seems to work fine and my damage output is respectable, not great by any means, but respectable. My issue is that after about 45 seconds, I have no magicka left and that is after using a Magicka restore potion. My DPS goes to crap after that. For long fights, I have a 15 second window where I have to switch to overload and spam dark deal (no damage output) just to get Magicka back then rinse and repeat.

Is there anything I can do to help with sustain?

Thanks in advance

Alcast has a build specifically for cp300 mag sorc.

Watched his build; almost identical to mine. Just main bar's elemental drain all the time. Seems to be my solution for the time being

Harness magicka helps me alot for sustain issues.
    Elemental drain works too though

Ideally, you healer should be running elemental drain for you. If you aren't getting support from your healer, any straight DPS build is gonna struggle after a while. If you are trying to keep your shield up at all times, that is going to hurt you as well.

You really want to figure out how to keep inner light on your bars at all times. I wouldn't flex it out, especially on your front bar.

You might try going double destro staff and running elemental drain yourself on your back bar. Most people are running that now. It allows you to put curse on your front bar and blockade on your back. Then you can have a flex spot for either your execute, shield, power surge, ele drain, etc. You really don't need an execute outside of trial bosses on a Sorc.

Front: force pulse, curse, frags, IL, bound Aegis
Back: blockade, LL, IL, bound Aegis, Flex

Same build as mine only I run double destro. Your probably around 800 recovery. I use the Witches potent brew recovery food. With some heavy attacks mixed in sustain is pretty good. Try popping a potion when your about 50% mag to boost recovery even more before you run out.

Before I ran dual destro, I would switch to overload to regain mag, then switch back as soon as it was full rather than use all the ultimate.

I also have magic issues on my sorc and I only run 2 spell damage glyphs at the moment. A lot of sustain comes from your group members. Orbs are useful and if no one is running drain, then you should. I used to use dark deal between fights on my overload Bar but it was ultimately a wasted slot. As a dps, you should never stop damage for things like dark deal. I'd suggest using the overload morph that gives back magic and swapping to that when you get low. Using a potion at 75% magic also helped me a bit. As for your set up, I'd recommend something like this:

Destro 1- inner light, aegis, frag, curse, force pulse, destro ult

Destro 2- hardened ward, aegis, blockade, liquid lightning, surge/elemental drain, overload.

Overload- inner light, hardened ward, aegis, liquid lightning, surge.

With good groups I drop ward for inner light or mages wrath. Sometimes I run surge only on my overload Bar for dungeons or quick fights. For trash/aoe I swap in pulsar because you get magic back from destro kills or you can use lightning staff heavy attack and that should sustain magic well enough.

    Thanks for all the advice.

Over the weekend, I have put elemental drain on the front bar atm just to see if it would effect my sustain. It seemed to work out really well. So long as it was up, i felt my sustainment was fine. I then switched to inner light on both, flex out hardened ward/power surge. That seems to really work for me. So I appreciate all the helpful advice.

One other question which is going to seem weird. Double Destro seems to be the common theme now. I like the concept and it makes sense. I have tried it a lot. My one really weird issue with it is that I get lost on which bar I am on in very involved fights.

How do you guys keep your bars straight when double destro when everything looks the same?

    Thanks again

Practice your rotation. If doing correctly you should spend little time on back bar. You could make your staves look different so it's easier to identify

Had a feeling you would say that :).

One more question on this stuff and I will shut-up.

With the current gear setup that I have, I am just using a throw away stave both from and back. Any thoughts on changes so the "set piece" would not be wasted.

The two staves I have are:

    Magnus (Sharpened Inferno) Front Bar
    Magnus (Defending Inferno) Back Bar

Will Power is only three pieces and there doesn't seem to be any 4 piece, only 5 piece and you can't get the 5th set piece bonus.

    Thanks for everything

Swap Dark Deal with Dark Conversion. Go Overload when you need to regen?

This brew was easily the best thing out of the Halloween event. :#
