So I am new. But I have got my first character through all of the aldmeri dominion plus main story quests. But now I am somewhat lost about what to do now.

Do I make a new character to run through the other alliances or run this one through it in an effort to get to 160 at least.
Or Join a guild or something.. I haven't played an MMO before i was basically treating it like skyrim... and I ignored the group content.. that what I did do was typically spontaneous

Any drops you get will become useless over long time.
CP160 is the only gear that will have a good value over long time (until ZoS increases gear cap).
So I'd suggest grind to 160 and then have fun with the dungeon/trial missions. :)

I'm still on my one and only toon who is AD, finished other two stories (lame) I'd say if you enjoy solo more than group, start in another allince, if you're all bout getting end game stats, stick with main.

if you get this character to 160 CP, any other character you choose to create in the future will automatically become CR160 once they reach level 50, so it is beneficial to get 1 character up to 160,

you can continue to run around having fun and questing in the other aliances, you do not need to make a character from that alliance to complete the story quest

if you want to begin exploring dungeons, trial & pvp i would advise finding a guild, so they can help you learn the mechanics

but at the end of the day, if you enjoy running athe content for the sake of the content, and you want to explore the different classes then you should totally do that, whether by yourself or as part of a guild,

do what you enjoy, this is a game after all - HAVE FUN :)

Oh, really? that is super useful to know that you go straight to 160 on new characters i didn't know that. That does make me want to grind a bit more I only have more 45 CP levels to go... I did literially everything in AD.

I still have crafting skills I want to level on this character and I am currently hanging around Craglorn (PC NA)

Enjoy the game with your actual character. Play other Alliance quests and do as much content as you can.
You will come to play with top gear and pvp eventually, and you won't regret having played every content available.
Baradur Morker - Level 50 Bosmer Nightblade
    Le-Duck - Level 50 Dark Elf Dragonknight
    Boom-Stormer - Level 50 High Elf Sorcerer
Nemeliom the Great - Level 50 Redguard Warden
Crazy Little Maggie - Level 50 High Elf Templar

You can just travel to any map, pick up any quest you want and see where it takes you
there are more than enough quests to get you to CR 160
also CP are account wide, so if/when you do decide to make a new character you will be able to assign CP to them, although you will not earn any CP until you are level 50, however your enlightenment will accumulate allowing for increase CP gain

However if you would like to follow the game in its linear form you need to do all the harborage quests & coldharbour questline
a new quest will then be triggered which directs you (as an AD player) to EP teritory and the DC teritory

(purposefully being vague to avoid spoilers)

re crafting, it is great & its fun, and i am hooked myself
but it is a huge drain on skill points,
another reason (other than earning CP) to work through all of the zones collecting skyshards, completing skill point quests & completing 4 person dungeons (try them on normal mode at first you can progress to veteran later)
eventually you will have enough skill points to indulge in crafting

You cant fail at PvP, everybody dies a lot at 1st, the key is to learn from it and adapt so you dont die as much... you will still die, everyone does but the aim is not to die as much.
there are lots of guides available online that will help you go in prepared, and there are lots of guilds filled with people who are happy to help,

Finish all three stories first....just the main three factions and fighters guild and mages guild. I'd also do the main story all

In saying that....you shouldn't look at it as leveling up to cp160. You should look at it as leveling up what you enjoy playing.

If you're thinking to make a new character because you don't know if that character is the best for you, I'd say play some new characters to level 10 or so and then pick one to stick to to do the above.

Well I got to CP 130 and its getting harder to get that last 30 cp.

Well It seems wrong to play the other story quest lines with this character. I mean its silly but I feel they were designed with a new character in mind, I get that it scales but it wont be the same with a higher level character.

I finished off the single player options for Craglorn. Then I basically typed in "anyone want to play a group delve for the mages stone" then ... I got one person... turned out they were also DPS so we were both DPS so it was really hard to make it through the delve.. we got to the boss.. and couldn't touch it.... typed in chat that we needed a tank/healer so we had to fight our way back to the entrance... got to the boss agian and couldn't beat it even with the tank/healer.

All my gear got destroied so I had to jump out and repair.. and put in the call for more help... how else am I going to fight my way back in again D:?? Picked up a high level player finally then fought our way back in again. Then quickly dispatched the boss.

Got to the next step couldn't work out how to do it... accidently stepped out of the exit door... literially ran through the delve without fighting anything.... snuck straight past the boss and through the door.... wondered why i didn't try that the first time :/....

It was actually funny and terrible at the same time. This all took several hours.

Speaking of terrible... PVP isn't as terrible as it should be... It should be terrible because I get one shot by everyone and the game FPS lags out when there is a lot of people on the screen. Also the distances are huge and it takes forever to get anywhere. I kind of want to explore Cryodil but I did feel like I'd be letting the team down if I am off doing quests or looking for shards. Instead I am mostly cannon fodder.. its oldly addictive though... despite feeling like I am not actually doing anything.

Any build advice for PVP Bow/2H NB so I can actually hurt opponents? I am not max level so gear advice is mostly pointless though.(5 Huntings rage, 5 Senche, 2 Air if you are wondering). Bow/2H NB is pretty terrible for PVE as well, which is kind of why I want to try something else, NB takes a lot of set up before every battle and it gets tiring

    Harder?

Do a daily random each day
And if you just want 30 CP go to a place where zombies or tigers or even people NPC spawn over and over.

Buy a crown exp scroll and kill stuff in a big circle or square for 2 hours

Google spots. It's a quick path at 130.

521 is not even slow and your exp rate gives much more than mine but you would benefit from playing from two characters.
One just to let enlightenment reset on your CP character...do a random daily and then swap backor just grind it out in a Cyrodil delve (don't go to the crowded ones via a Google search)
    EDIT:
If you're grinding be sure it's you and one other who is within 5 CP of you or just do it solo. Don't group up more than two counting yourself.

For a first char ever, I would advise to get to CP160, do all quests and see what you like the most. Also, it is good decision to make that char crafter. Later, when you saw all areas/quests etc, pick up what you like the most, race/class/alliance and enjoy.

The first trek to cp160 will benefit every successive character. Its the "effective" approach.

But, if you are intetested in different classes, races etc, try those with new characters.

    Whats funnis more important.

But i will say, i learned a lot by playing different classes and by playing after 50.

That's what I do. I'd even say to get cp160 at least but to focus even further on this character to get to 561. I created an OrcSorc who's my crafter, currently at around cp220 and in the last AD region playing Cadwell's Silver. I didn't play any dungeons yet except some of the public ones nor any pvp or dlc content. I'll continue to Cadwell's Gold and do all the profession researches with him.

@Narvuntien you really should play the other alliances too. After you've finished the main story around Molag Bal, go to your hideout to meet Cadwell and accept his Silver quest. Although with 1T even before finishing the main story you can go anywhere you wish, but doing Cadwell's "feels" like it is meant for your character, regardless of home-faction. If you don't do so, you'll miss a lot of skill points and easier achievable cps due to missed quest xp. With my first character I also didn't leave my home-faction regions until I completed the main story and the fighters and mages guild quest lines. If you decide to start Cadwell's you can play all the zones, but won't be able to replay the main story and the guilds quest lines. In case Cadwell sends you to the first larger region (which happened to me when I was sent to the AD) I recommend to go to the starter island by boat to follow the story from scratch.

Personally I would say, play your main to CP160, so every following character will for one have a nice backing of champion points to make their levelling easier, and for another be able to use CP160 gear as soon as they hit level 50; and that is the only gear that will have lasting usefulness, really.

You -may- want to start an alt if you have more daily playtime then enlightment... then do as I did - play for your daily c-point(s) until enlightment runs out, then switch to levelling your alt.
