Do you (did you) feel a pressure to get to 160cp? (Poll options goes for this question)
From other players or because of specific game features?
Why do other players "urge" you to reach 160cp?
Which features make you (made you) feel like you should reach 160cp "asap"?

Describe your experience and/or define wether you feel its ok, good or bad, and why..

I don't even remember how many Champion Points I had when the change over from Vet levels happened. I remember my main character was Vet 14 when the change came, and then I was at like, CP 200 or 300? Not anywhere near the 501 cap at the time, but I was still over 160 so it didn't matter to me at all as far as gear level was concerned.

In actuality, ZOS removing Vet levels gave me a free bump up from CP 140 gear. lol

I simply leveled up by myself, following the stories, questing, clearing the delves and public dungeons...etc. and once I reached level 50 I joined a guild so I started to run some dungeons and gain more experience for group content.

You get to cp160 pretty quick anyway, what's more difficult is to get to 561cp!

I hit VR16 (as it was then) about half an hour after entering the sewers for the 1st time on release date!

when CP cap was introduced i was no where near cap (about 300CP) i never went out of my way to earn CP before that & have never bothered since they have just accumalated over time (close to 800cp now)

I seem to recall that for some reason the community's impression was that 180+ was ideal for participating in Trials and such when the Champion system was implemented.

If you're not doing group content I cannot fathom why it would matter whatsoever. The grind is so absurdly easy now. Grinding alts from VR 12 to VR 14 was not fun and certainly not easy. There was simply no content which gave experience like that is now.

Then again my main became a Major in 2014. That's like 10,0000 times more effort than getting to CP 160.

CP160, not really. I spent four months just getting to 50. All solo content. I didn't touch dungeons until after 50. Imo after 50 the game really began for me. CP561 is different since you are a badass then. The trek from CP160 to 561 is more rewarding since you can farm the gear you want and lvl all crafting so it goes by fast.

I never felt pressure from players (since I didn't Pv_ before I was over CP160). At the time I was having fun soloing and grouping with friends for solo content.

However, I always thought of my gear as temporary and didn't bother upgrading any pieces... I felt like any investment in gear was a waste, and that I'd end up trashing everything once I hit max, so I didn't bother getting set pieces; occasionally I'd put on 2 or 3 pieces if the zone dropped a lot, but it seemed like a waste to farm for non-max pieces. I like gearing up my player, so I put some pressure on myself to get to max level just so I could finally get some cool gear.

I started playing a couple months before the VR system went away (which was great for me). At the time I had one VR8 and another VR4 character... when things switched I had about 250CP, so I was very excited to start putting together some fun sets... now it's the grind to CP561! (almost there)

You should honestly pressure yourself to reach 160. I don't even feel like the game begins until that point -- and it's so doable as well. Within 20-30 hours of gameplay you'll easily reach that. If you're the type of person who enjoys questing, and you do the quests I'm positive that you'd reach 160 before finishing 60% of them so there's that.

Before reaching 160 there's no point to Grind monster helms, grind mats, craft gold gear, or even farm sets needed for your build.

Thats the problem with mmo style games. Nothing you do matters until end game but there are a billion things that you can do. And once you hit end game all those things can be done but why bother when just doing x or y accomplishes the same thing with less time invested. Some cool ideas in this game but not enough time spent making them worthwhile and to much pushing out new content.

Champion Points are definitely pretty "easy" to earn now. I can get several in a day by just playing randomly, not to mention you can get enlightened which increases your xp gain toward the next point.

When I was playing Beta I did significantly. The zones were segregated to level sections and there was nothing else to do but the quests. ALL I wanted to do was explore the Red Guard's home and the desert. Being a long time ES fan I have always wanted to see Hammerfell from a 3d perspective. I decided to do what I usually do in ES games and just go for it. My plan was to start there. (kinda like I started in Falkreath for Skyrim and started Oblivion in Bruma. Morrowind I went to Solsthiem as soon as blood moon came out) At first it was fine but I ended up getting into some difficult baddies. And it is not like it made logical sense as in Skyrim with certain creatures and bandits being harder to kill then others, but just the same type of monster got significantly harder as I traveled the lands. Well I ended up dying a few times but ultimately sneaking my way to the border. Ah yes.. The next 'zone' or whatever.. The border of the regions was just through the sunken road in Bangkorai. I then realized in order to even SEE the desert or Hammerfell at all I would have to go back and GRIND out a bunch of quests and missions or do the main story (which I had never have an interest in ES games) first. This is when I logged out and uninstalled the game cursing and vowed to not buy this game until something changed.

2-3 years later I am scrolling through news clips for games on some website and I read about one Tamriel. I also read that previously there was a CRIME update as well. Finding a cheap CD key (9.90 at steam right now) I dove in and my experience was quite opposite.

I will admit. I am an RPer.. most of the story in Es games for me come from my own ventures and stories.. not the ones that were written (I like a good mix of stuff but usually do not like playing the be all hero)... Anyways.. So far I am only level 25 and I have explored a good amount of what I wanted to see. I have role played with random people in the zones and in taverns. I have role played trade with random orc tribes and created a role for my character among some heavy rp guilds. All at level 25 or something. If there is an event I can go along with it at any level and participate. In RP everyone sort of rps the same skill/ability level so that there is not power gaming and so far my character has not been seen in RP as 'inferior' or 'weak' due to his low level vs some level 500 character. I do obviously respect guild rank ect.. and I rp my character as young but I do not think anyone would bat an eye if I rped him as a vet soldier at that level.

So to answer the question.. as a RPer i think that One Tamriel has changed the typical MMO GET TO THE MAX LEVEL rush to 'play the game as you want'

Only rush I do feel is armor. Everyone I rp with has these badass sets and look like they want their character to look. With One Tamriel every item I find is better then the last one I just found.. So I am always seemingly wearing a hodge podge of gear that does not match. Every time I get a set that matches and looks good I find a new helmet 2 hours later that is loads better. This I have fixed by beating the Wrothgar main story and getting a costume so my character can wear the same set of Orc crafted armor till the end when he can actually focus on gear. Gear as of now is WORTHLESS unless you are 160. That is my only rushed feeling.

The same as many posters above... when the VR's were removed I was VR16 + a lot of champion points. I think I started with around 250.. & since the CP caps have been raised I have always been over the caps just by regular playing. Currently @ 608CP.

Well, I spent around more than five hours a day, each day, when the double exp event was going, just going through all the quests. Took me around 11 or 12 days to reach CP 160, and I tell ya, PvE is dead to me. Was about ready to quit from the burn out when I finally got to it.

Wouldn't be so bad if the gear disparity wasn't insane; good luck doing PvP on Azura's Star @ CP 10.

When I was below cap in veteran levels, I always felt that I had to be at the cap to get the most out of the game. However, I also felt things weren't that important. As I was playing relatively casually back then, and didn't care about things like "proper builds" and 'rotations'. So it was rather mixed for me, when looking back on it.

I thought that quests gave more xp than that. When I bought the game I went through every quest and got to like vet 12 doing it -- then they apparently upped the xp on quests.

When I said 20-30 hours though I meant 20-30 hours of grinding mobs lol, questing takes a lot longer.

I want to get to cp160 so I don't have to change my gear anymore.

It is kind of strange but the thing that bugs me most about this type of game is constantly having to change my gear... oh that one is better I'll have to upgrade, oh no this weapon is superior I'll have to replace it. I get attached to my gear okay...

Like I have this sweet sword right now.. its pitch black witha square tip and a little hook. I have no idea what motif it is just that I think its cool looking and I don't want to upgrade it...:(

I was Vet16 before champion points were introduced, but never felt pressure to level. However, I am generally a solo player so I don't have to deal with the problem of finding groups as a lower level. Based on what I read on the forums and see in the game now, I think players are often feeling pressured to increase CP (and I'm not talking 160, they don't get invited if under 300 these days) because groups are kicking people with lower CP.

The complete lack of gear stability is just painful, especially when CP 160 items (as far as I can tell) have the same stats as items at a lower CP level... until I outlevel the gear I'm trying to use.

The worst time in the game was from 120-160 cp, when one level was like 150k xp and the elightened bonus barely helped. It slowed down to a crawl. And the terrible thing about it was that basically every piece of gear you pick up is vendor trash, no matter the quality, item set or where you got it. That really dampened the will to do dungeons, world bosses and such, even the main quest gives a leveled reward at the end, so it's best to be avoided. Who wants a cp 140 purple weapon? It would be great if max level gear would have already dropped at that point, so you could work towards something more than just xp grinding and vendor trash.
